Your iPad is running ipadOS 15.2 or later, and you need to enter the wrong password at least eight times in a row until the iPad says " try again in 15 minutes." If that doesn't work, try method 2 in 3:47 in this video.

One issue with that software: If you cannot remember your iCloud login password and your iPad has become unavailable, so you use the software to reset and unlock it, then it asks you for your iCloud login password, to complete the job. Yeah; right. Catch 22. 🤷‍♂
