Brilliant interview! The simplified explanation of how to get out of a worry loop is awesome, Thank you! In regards to being aware I wanted to add that I started wearing a CGM (I’m not a diagnosed diabetic) because I wanted to see how insulin resistant I have become, I’m 52 and overweight. What I’ve learned so far is the real time information is extremely useful for my mind and body connection when I succumb to overeating the wrong foods (candy/cakes/ice cream/fast foods/supposedly healthy foods) not only could I see the damage it was doing when my BS spiked and took forever to come back down but I also felt “saw” how sick and fatigued it made me feel long after, including disturbing my sleep cycles. I literally stopped eating all the things I was addicted to previously. I still get a sweet tooth but am discovering what foods my body tolerates well as well as enjoys, BS wise. My CGM has been the best device to help me be aware and should be common place and available for all who struggle with overeating. Thanks!

Really liked this (of course). I have anxiety disorders and I recently found that studying for nursing school helps me calm down. I like to learn and now i guess it makes sense? Avoidance to break anxiety reaction? Learning is quenches the curiosity that is the BBO for my anxiety. So I started making soap from scratch when the pandemic started hitting the USA. I think it was a natural takeover that learning (again with curiosity) helped me focus on something besides anxiety and it was something productive to kill germs (aka have a little control).

(which is good because he suffers so much). Today I saw a woman in a parking lot. She was wearing an N95, googles and gloves, to go to the store. I felt sorry for her, but I also didn't judge her. It might be the only way she can get herself out of the house at all.

Thank you for utilizing a compassionate approach with this topic, it feels like I am participating in a more productive and constructive convo about how to support clients better (and also, the people that we love). I've always thought it was unfair to victim blame folks that are still learning how to cope and co-exist with the harmful attitudes that are ingrained into our society designed to destabilize specific communities. For decades we have seen how this type of stress (COVID adding a new layer of stress) has manifested in people's health. It can’t be denied anymore and totally support people people stepping up to actually meet this demand in public health. I also have respect for those willing to step down because they really didn’t understand the field that they were committing to until now.

@darkydoom3 жыл бұрын
@@sanamsitaram7940 I presume because of their tolerance that leads to addiction, but I finally had a GP that likes me, plus being a nurse myself, plus just losing my father the cancer, to convince her to give me a prescription. The good thing is I have developed so many coping mechanisms that it's been a year and I still haven't finished the 8 she gave me. And antidepressants don't work for me (they only work for 40% of recipients). I honestly don't think I've even even properly diagnosed to begin with because trying to find a good psychiatrist and then the cost of all those appointments on top of it, I've given up.

I have had a MUCH better experience with psychiatric nurses than psychiatrist mds. Might be worth looking into. Another consideration is seeing a psychologist for a thorough assessment and differential diagnosis. Psychologists can also do testing as part of assessment. It's not just that worrying is internally rewarding as "something to do" in the face of helplessness; it is culturally rewarded in a huge way. If you don't worry about your new driver teenage son, you are labelled as uncaring or even negligent. Widespread helicopter parenting did not arise in a vacuum of social contingencies. No wonder those kids seem to all have anxiety diagnoses.

Great tool to have because benzodiazepines which has sky rocketed in usage is about to cause one of the biggest medical crashes we've ever recorded and worse... Most doctors have no idea how damaging long term exposure is on not only Gaba/Glutamate but on the CNS as a whole, alot of suicide is about to under go from benzo usage longer then 2-4 weeks (which is the max usage recommendation) from many who truly believe you can only be a victim if abused which is such a sicken lie, more then 72% according to. The FDA will hit tolerance, eventually will hit tolerance withdrawal which is when a person has problems and health complications even while on the drug and don't even get me started on withdrawal.
