How to update GarlicOS 1.4.5 - RG35XX

Hi! Today I am gonna show you how to update your GarlicOS on your Anbernic RG35XX. As of recording the current version out is 1.4.5 this guide will help get you up and running with the latest version of GarlicOS.

Thank you for the video! Very clear to follow and I was able to successfully update to v1.4.9. However, why is it suggested to download the .002 zip file if it's not used?

When you extraxt 001, you are extracting 001 and 002 simultaneously and then your pc joins them together automatically So the files you see extracted are become the same, they are just part one and part two, they were just separated

When I did it, I was told you also have to move over the Roms folder as well is that not true? I noticed you didn’t do that

When replacing the CFW files, I’ve gotten error messages that says a total of four separate files are unreadable/corrupted and I have to skip to continue (retry gives the same error) What does that mean?

Sooooo what do we do with the 002 file we downloaded? You specifically said to extract the 001 file and then did all the overwriting, but never did anything with the 002.

Any advice on how to preserve custom retroarch settings? Every time I update garlic os, I have to readjust the color scheme for GB and turn the sprite limit emulation hack for NES, and set overlays for all the handhelds systems. It's getting quite cumbersome and I'm kinda fedup with doing that over and over again..

You should be able to maybe copy the config file back. But then if there are changes made by the developer then you won’t have them and it could cause issues

@@TheOGFryingPan that's what I'm struggling with. I'm afraid that if I make the retroarch config readonly, that it would cause issues if black seraph decides to make changes. I haven't find a fool proof way yet to preserve my settings..

If your useing a 2ed sd card do i just copy the bios and cfw on that card as well?

For some reason i can't extract the .001 file, ive tried with both winrar and 7z and they say the file is corrupted and can't be opened or extracted, ive also tried redownloading the files multiple times but it always gave the same error, what should i do?

I really need to updste garlic because mine for some reason is stuck on a game and whenever i try to exit to the menu it freezes and can't even turn off, it can only restart and it just reopens the game

Put both files .001 and .002 in one folder and then extract them

I can't extract the archive, it keeps giving me an error.

Make sure you have both 001 and 002 and extract 001 first and it will automatically extract 002
