So do we have to now go out and buy a programming box to fix your error? That's another $45 Canadian on top of the $1020 the truck cost. Not at all happy if I have to pay to fix your error.

Find your local hobby shop and see if they can help you do it free since they likely have these available in the store to use.

Leave it to Spektrum to mess up a hobbywing esc and make you buy the programmer. They should at least heavily discount the programmer.

If your software does not connect to the ESC, such as freezing the app, move the unzipped folder to the desktop and run it from there. This has been commented below, but I thought I'd post a recent comment to provide this "tech support". Horizon should provide this in their PDF document and add a comment in this video (along with needing to update the programmer first!)

I just went back and deleted my previous post. New Big Rock and also now new Kraton exb are driving fantastic! Two best RC's I have ever owned. The previous issues I was experiencing with the Big Rock had nothing to do with the truck. It was my actually my fault 100%. Basically in my quest to keep any and all debris out of the chasis, I failed to take into account that these esc's need to have airflow when in use even in very cold temperatures. I foolishly used high strength tape to seal everything which lead to a lack of airflow and the subsequent cutting out situation. Now that I stopped doing that and started using a proper chasis cover the esc is working fantastic! My apologies for my previous negative posts. They were completely wrong. These vechiles are some of the best ever made!

The drop down options are not there on my program. It is connected and says to update the firmware but there is no other versions to update it to. Is there a update for the software its self that has the new versions in it?

Wow ok still can not update because the download for the software is not correct. This is really sad. Been days they put this out and you still can not get it right. Really angry!!!

I've updated the v2 programmer and that worked. I can tune the esc. But when I go to update the firmware on the esc it freezes the computer. Tried a second computer and same thing. It freezes the program until I unplug the esc.

***When you go to download the update until they fix the link, copy it instead of downloading, paste it in your address bar, and change 1 . 0 . 9 .zip to 1 . 1 . 0 .zip and you can download the update. Just updated mine and it fixed the issue.***

@@RCPropaganda go to the link right before you download it and click copy link. When you post it in the address bar, before hitting enter change 1 . 0 . 9 .zip to 1 . 1 . 0 .zip (without spaces) and press enter. It should start to download the correct software automatically.

Make these jackwagons fix it it themselves . Don't buy new esc. Make them fix their mistakes don't pay a dime in cords and program cards. Plus a up to date computer you'll need to fix it... that's another 100 plus

First you need to clarify the programmer needs to updated next you need a link nothing on the horizon site works I either get a rar file with 1.1.0 and 1.0.9 is the old 2021 version put a link to the correct update for the program card in the description

like I said you need to clarify this so people know the video is out there I will say as a person who already owns the v2 you need to make it right with the people that put up their hard earned money to support you and mail them a v2 like you did another youtuber its not right you pushed a faulty product one that is far from cheap you were too busy pushing way too many new models in time for Christmas never fully tested this stuff and your influencers you give stuff away to are too afraid to loose free products to ever say anything @@horizonhobbysupport

I was able to update my programmer, but when I follow the instructions in the video (exactly) once I turn on my ESC, the green light in the app turns on next to "ESC Speed Controller" but the app freezes. I cant click on anythung, it doesnt display any ESC parameters. I must end task in task manager to close it. Could you please assist me. I have tried using 2 brand new programmers, that I received today. I have been messing with this for 2.5 hours, and always love to tell everyone how much I love my HH products. I even love my Big Rock 6s despite the firmware issues. but I am about ready to give up on Spektrum products over this thing. Ive spent 2 hours playing with it, and over 6 hours dealing with this firmware issue.

This does not work! When I follow the steps to the letter, the program does nothing. I shows it's connected, but is unresponsive and will not allow me to click on anything in the program. All I can do is unplug everything and then it will let me close the program. Otherwise it just sits there and does nothing. And yes, I updated my V2 program box already. Your sofeware is buggy as hell HH / Spektrum. Please fix this so I can play with my $700 Big Rock.

Sorry but you are unable to update a v1 programmer to this firmware. You will need a V2 programmer.

First rc bought in decades, and this is the crap i get caught up in. Broke the wing mount on the kraton after esc caused it to spin forward instead of coasting off the ramp. You aholes better commit to fixing what you started
