A couple of important TIPS:: Rinse food residue off the dishes in the sink immediately after eating and before loading them into the dishwasher. You don't want to get any large food particles into your dishwasher. Only use dish gel, not powder. Powder is too harsh on dishes. Be sure to open the dishwasher door a couple of inches immediately after the dishwasher finishes running. This allows the steam to escape which not only allows the dishes to dry more quickly, but also helps prevent the dishwasher from molding. I usually set a timer to remind myself when the dishwasher cycle is complete. You may have to hold the start button in for a few seconds to stop the button from flashing.

Thank you. I just needed to know if I needed to put the detergent pod in the detergent bay AND close the door. You would think that would be in the quick start guide. I also didn't understand rinse aid. If you don't have a parent or aunt or uncle, or some other caretaker to tell you this stuff, how do you know? Some stuff seems common sense to me, and other stuff that probably seems common sense to others is just unknown to me. I just replaced the 3rd dishwasher in like 10 years.
