How to use a roundabout (if you want to be hit by a truck) | Euro Truck Sim 2

I'm driving a bunch of stuff from here to there in trucks I don't own. That's the game right now. That. No I didn't buy my own truck yet, because I'm going to end up slumming it in some gutless Iveco while throwing cash galore at the bank... you know what, that sounds like a hoot. I'll do it. Next time. Not this time. No. This time I'm going to teach a few car drivers a thing or two about roundabouts.
This is a semi-serialised Euro Truck Simulator 2 adventure that you can "enjoy" in whatever order you fancy. So, have fun with that.

wow...those AI drivers really had a death wish...then again, I've seen people here (seattle) stop in the middle of roundabouts, so maybe that's not so out of the question. Also, always take long-distance as your first few skill points. Longer trips = more $$ and more xp. Otherwise, bravo Colonel!

My car selection method is based on bang for buck (and space). I tend to buy cars that are 10+ years old that were very high spec in their day for peanuts. The beast I'm rolling around in at the moment was £37k when new. I got it 2 years ago for £3k. It's got plenty of life left in it, but I'll be swapping again in the next year.

The AI doesn’t seem that different than what it was years back. Maybe you can try some AI mods. As far as I recall it was easy to mod ETS2 and disable mods, you should be safe+ * I hope

Joking aside, if I may... The crap AI in this game has ruined it for me to the point where I haven't played it since the World of Trucks Valentine's event in February 2023. On most of the 14 runs required for the event, I had incidents like this... the same thing on roundabouts, vehicles accelerating into the back of my truck from toll gates, and several other issues. It's amusing for a while, but then it becomes infuriating. I was so p'd off that I blasted through the last 2 runs of the event running lights and barging everything out of the way, just to get it done. I played this and ATS _a lot_ and even bought a Tobii Eye Tracker 5 specifically for these games. I bought all the DLC up that point, except the paint job packs. I even have paid mods. But I just can't face it anymore until SCS get their collective finger out of their butt and do some work on the AI. It's had a sound overhaul and 2 graphical overhauls when both were perfectly adequate, and they're constantly faffing around "reworking" areas of the maps that you may only see once every few months, and tweaking things that don't really need to be changed... yet the one thing that seriously needs addressing, they won't talk about; whenever anyone asks about AI improvements, there's nothing but tumbleweed... absolute silence. They simply _will not_ address it at all, even to say, "sorry, there's nothing we can do." So I stopped playing, and I stopped supporting them... I've spent no money on the games since February 2023. It's shame, because I used to thoroughly enjoy playing them to relax, as they're a great change of pace from other things I play.

@@colonelfailure In the scania (the first truck) on the tachometer the blue line means you should change gears there, because the torque curve. In trucks there are colured zones to indicate drivers the efficient revs. If you don't believe me try it. Your acceleration should be better if you shift at roughly 2K, than shifting at red line.
