You should get Knees Over Toes Guy on your show. Sled drags are a key part of his programme.

Im doing the sled for overall fitness and stamina, do the sled for 20min back and forth is brutal

i have never felt a better leg pump from squats than i have from pushing and pulling the sled.
@gunner66392 жыл бұрын
I can see this being true. I weight train almost daily. A few days ago my neighbors truck got stuck in the snow, I helped push him out and my legs were burning like they havent in a long time for 3 days straight! (Along with my chest from the pushing) Very interesting to me

I just got done using the sled and looked this up because as soon as I got done I got the meanest Charlie horse but I waa also doing squats....another thing to keep in consideration is adding pushing around a wheel barrow along with the sled, I bought the torque tank and it's a monster workout, if only I had a hill in all of this flat land lol

My body cries after a 3 day week of doing squats. The sled is like my BFF. No pain! I have several joints that are not the best, and I have 100% relief using the sled. And 98% of the time, there is no wait to use the equipment. Most people don't bother

From someone that injures himself every time I try to squat, the sled has been a game changer for me. I cannot squat with my arms overhead. It causes the pelvis to rotate forward (anterior pelvic tilt) and then stuff starts to break.... so until I sort out my muscle imbalances through core exercises and stretches, the sled is where it is at. However, I don't think I can do it everyday. I still train hamstrings full on, then sled work next, then leg extensions, then calfs seated and standing along with the knees to toes guy's philosophy on Tibialis training. I'm definitely seeing growth so I will more than likely just stick with this for awhile. Great Video!

Sounds like maybe you do to much push exercises.. chest/front delts
@JerryD7 Жыл бұрын
Yes, in my earlier years I was all upper body. I am now in the process of trying to correct the muscle imbalances. It has been difficult but for now I will stay away from deadlift and the squat rack. I do a lot of hamstring work, Sled work (Push and Pull), Leg extensions and calf work. Definitely making progress. Thanks! @@keithlittle293

Good chat. 👍🏻 Im 35 and just started doing sled push twice a week. My strength for training mma/judo /wrestling has definitely gone up.

I’m sled head but not a wrestler. I can imagine the benefits of explosive sled pushes equating to strong take down ability. When exploding on a sled , in my head I’m telling myself I’m trying to take down someone breaking into my home or something combative.

are sleds good for force in running? I mean, I want to exercise force in my legs to avoide injuries due to impact.

How much weight on the sled? 2-3x body weight?
@jeffcelis30242 жыл бұрын
Depends on your goal . I only put 50kg on it but I do it for ten minutes . But I’m following the knees over toes programs . So It’s like an endurance warm up
@seanpurdy4540 Жыл бұрын
I’d also say for post 2 x body weight may be initially hard to push, also depends on footwear grip too.

John Madden, one of the greatest football coaches, said nothing beats the sled. If he only had one activity to choose for a football player, it's the sled.

What adam said hit me last monday i was maybe 2 inches from the bottom of a deadlift something relaxed too soon and my lower back cracked ans completely gave way. Now i cant walk sit or stand straight. I realized ive been training on a straight bar and never really touched the trap bar. I think my technique was off by a the smallest bit as the trap bar is a lil weird for me. My therapist has me just doing some yoga to recover from the injury. Do yall have any videos on recovering from injury?

You just need to accept its over for you now and embrace your wheelchair. Recovery is a myth

Hey, as someone who tried to lift a baby grand piano back in 2008 and am currently seeing a chiropractor, a physical therapist and im about to start pain management....I'd say take this as your sign and look for other ways to build your legs even if you just go run up and down some hills or stairs, it just isn't worth it because once you messed up your back the right way it's a daily thing and there's not really any going back and that sucks bad.

Sled pushing versus sled pulling. Is one superior? One seems like it would be more quiet dominant versus the other more glue dominant
@keithlittle293 Жыл бұрын
I believe you utilise quad and glute equally on both.. I believe in unison Very functional movement
@damonm4156 Жыл бұрын
sled pull is a insane burn but you push sled enough reps you will feel the burn to. I think sled is slept on to many or majority are still to close minded its squat or deadlift but people are thinking more ego than long term. Your joints will be friendlier as you age with sled rather than barbell squat or DL
@JamesJones-r8r10 ай бұрын
No. Do both. Start with a backwards drag, then push it back. The drag hits the anterior chain and the push hits the posterior chain. That covers everything.
@limitisillusion79 ай бұрын
Quads and glutes are hit pretty well in both pushes and drags Pushes will hit the calves and glutes a bit harder. Drags will hit the VMO part of the quad more. Hams are less relevant, but they're still a contributor in both.
