Right now I don’t have access to an ID4 we sold the only one we had. I will see if I can do a video on that feature with a different Volkswagen

If the adaptive cruise is not on, will the car still brake if it sees a car in front of you?

Great question. Yes it will. It will wait until the last second , when the car thinks an accident is going to happen. It will warn you with noise and lights. The the car will hit the breaks to the full capacity of the antilock breaks. And try to prevent an accident.
