Thanks so much for this video! Wished Gelatin as a whole was replaced by this amazing much safer and cruelty-free and nature-safer ingredient worldwide. Got a bucket of it myself and wanted to add that if anyone doesn't have these sold in convenience stores in their countries, they can try any shop that sells lab equipments too since this is also used as a high-level nutrition for organisms, just make sure the company that has made it approves oral consumption of it too.

I am just learning about about agar-agar, which is how I landed on your video. Very nice. The gummy Candis will work amazing with my Elderberry syrup. I will have to order some agar-agar to do just this thing. I am very interested though in your grapefruit pearls. What all can you use those for? And how long are they good for in the refrigerator? I did read in the comments not to freeze but I didn't see anywhere about how long they would last in the refrigerator. I am thinking these grapefruit pearls might go nicely on a seaweed salad which is something else I am learning about. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge I did indeed subscribe.

Hi, What is the texture like for the pearls?
@Qcpaintballer5 жыл бұрын
@@yangscontemporarycuisineya2681 it's all depends on the agar/liquid ratio. I can't tell about her recipe but for the few times that I did it the results were very soft and tender. It's not chewy and It won't pop in your mouth. Oh Small tips that I learned by doing it. If you want to avoid squashed spheres, use a tall container for the oil otherwise your spheres might not solidify in time before they reach the bottom.

Hello. Not sure if you have been responded to or have tried it yourself. But I would expect it to work but may need more agar agar to set properly due to the density of the oil and all the goodies that extra virgin coconut oil contains.

Hello thanks for the video i just discover agar agar so want substitute gelatin with it . Could you by any chance let me know how much agar agar i will need for the recipe which calls 15g g of pork gelatin to make orange confit (400g orange pure) .Thank you.
@Misbah.4043 жыл бұрын
i do 1/3 tsp agar agar every 1 tsp of gelatin. many people like 1:1 ratio but i and many other bloggers find that 1:1/3 ratio gives the nearest result. to find out what works best for you boil 1 cup of water and add 1/2 tsp agar agar and set half of the mixture aside to let it set and in the other half add 1/2 tsp more and boil and setit aside to set , see which texture from the test batch is more suitable and go that way.

Thank you so much for the helpful video. I made a mistake in making some gummies (for the first time) and I was wondering if anyone would maybe shed some light on where I might have gone wrong. I did it exactly like how you prepared the gummy bears, mixed a cup of water and some sweet sorbet and three tbsp of agar powder, boiled them for a minute or two, let it cool and put it in the fridge for about an hour. When I tried it it tasted so bad (like how I'd imagine plastic bags used for trash would taste like) despite the pleasant aroma and the texture despite having mixed it thoroughly was very powdery and all in all felt like I was chewing on silicon plastic. Any ideas what mistake/s I made and what I need to correct or change for the next time for this not to happen?
