The wonder wheel and this helps you understand what is going on. Like trying to track on a VOR, Knowing where in earth is the wind coming from. Lucky my plane give me ground speed so It can help me determine if it's a head or tail and so on.

Thanks for the video it's really helpfull to understand. I have a simple question. After marking the wind dot on 10 degree over 85 knots, you slided the dot on center line above the reference point. Do we always have to slide that dot above the reference point ? If you slided the dot below the reference point, the result would be different. How should i decide whether the dot will go below the reference point or above ? Thank you !

Hi Cem, thanks for the question. Yes, you will always slide the dot over the center point, and then this will indicate to you the wind direction at the top of the E6B marked under ‘True Index'. Hope that helps!

@@flyaeroguard Thank you much for the reply. Ive been trying to look for one but unfortunately with no luck...I called asa2fly and they told me they do not manufacture them any more...we are located in Europe and here they dont manufacture it neither. Do you know anything about the USA? Any pilot shop? Any supplier? I´m trying to do my best as a CFI to teach and I think this tool is a MUST for my students.

What happened with this exercise which is more than 59 knots and not possible to use the e6b? If a true heading of 230° results in a ground track of 250° and a true airspeed of 160 knots results in a groundspeed of 175 knots, the wind would be from A. 135° and 59 knots. B. 165° and 60 knots. C. 343° and 60 knots.

Hi there, you should be able to insert different numbers into the process we explained in this video and find the approximate unknown wind without having to use the E6B flight computer. Our goal with this specific video was to show viewers how to take the information they have and apply it to the E6B flight computer to find the unknown wind more accurately. Thank you! @@Beatamins

You should go more into detail how you came up with the 10 degrees wca…. You just told… you didn’t really show
@flyaeroguard
@flyaeroguard Жыл бұрын
Hello Ike, thank you for sharing your suggestions on how we could improve this video content and go into more detail. In this example, the 10 degrees was calculated from evaluating the difference between True Course (345 degrees) and True Heading (355 degrees). The difference between the two is 10, and that is how we came up with the 10 degrees WCA. We want to ensure that AeroGuard’s videos are as informative, helpful, and clear as possible. Please let us know if you have any additional questions
