Is it possible to have conditional formating to a dropbox that is populated by a query? ifso, does it have to be based on the bound column? or can it be from an unbound column? but not the bound column

Can I please ask how you color the whole ID column? Was it also conditional formatting with always true condition? Or was it just BackColor? I don't think we can set BackColor for datasheet. Thanks.

Thanks for this video. It's the first I've watched one of your videos and I enjoy the way you present. I have a question. I want to concatenate two fields on a report with a comma in between. However, if one of the field is null, I don't want to see the comma ie the &", " should not be displayed. Can this be done outside of VBA coding? Please help.

Conditional formatting loads the system very much. Are there ways to optimize conditional formatting of large tables for fast and convenient operation?

Not really. Just try to display as few records as possible if you have a slow connection.

@@599CD I understood my problem. Slow formatting was due using dfirst/dlookup, but it is better to create a regular query and in the formatting expression make a link to the necessary field. Now it works very quickly. 100+ records table with 60 fields and 10 formatting conditions on each field is ok.

How do you conditional formatting on different % for instance 50% or less must be red and 50% or more yellow

Just remember that percentages are fractions of 1. So 50% is actually 0.5

Love your videos. I had conditional formatting on a form field that used a look up. If they pick good, it turns green. If they pick bad, it turns red. It was working fine and now all of a sudden it’s not working. The fields are set to normal, not transparent and the selectable value and field types are the same as before. Any idea why it may have stopped working?

While probably obvious, when something like this happens to me, I go back and look at recent changes I made. If you have a backup of your database and reports from when it was working, compare the two and chances are you will find the reason pretty quickly. Good luck!
