I think there is some wrong information. After sitting cruise control at say 60 km, if you press the accelerator, it will increase the speed temporarily. We use this of we want to over take another vehicle. You take out your leg from accelerator, it will go back to 60. If you want to increase the cruise speed, you have to press set button again after reaching desired speed. Normally we press brake if we want to disengage cruise control. The advantage of this method is it will remember the old cruise speed. There is a resume button. If you press that it will go to the set speed. Please note that resume button and - button are same. If you switch off cruise using main cruise control button, it will not remember the speed and we have to set it again. I have driven many cars with cruise control and this is how it works.
