How to use custom tags in PowerDirector to manage resources

A very useful tutorial and something I haven't really explored in the past. Considering how many effects, text etc are included within PowerDirector this is a very effective means to easily access commonly used assets.

I often wish there was a way to group media into "folders" when I'm doing a project with a lot of video clips (eg, drone shots, ground shots, people shots...). This looks like a great way to do this. Thanks!!!

Hello Jim. I use the "Branding" folder in "Media" to keep material available across projects. Also, I have found in the past that PD updates can cause loss of "favourites", hopefully updates will not cause "tags" to disappear! David

David, I need to check out the "Branding" as well. My tags seem to stay consistent between updates. Hopefully that will not change. --Jim

Hiya Jim, I do have a question about the tags. When you've created them inside the TITLES, OVERLAY areas, are those custom tags still there after an update in PD 365?

Useful indeed, Jim. Thank you. But marking items like Transitions as Favourites allows for similar segregation for easy access. How is this really different from marking Favoruites ? Yes, it allows me to rename the category. What else?

I can't think of a dramatic additional advantage at the moment. I will acknowledge that this will be of marginal benefit for some video editors. It's a slightly different way of managing resources than marking elements as favorites. If you don't see an advantage to it, there is no need to use it. --Jim

The way I see it, this would be helpful should you be producing different types of videos on a routine basis and want to maintain consistency among the types such as sports (could be broken down further like baseball/football/soccer), podcasts, etc. Agree though if only one tag is needed to just use the "Favorites" one.

I can see the benefit of having different tags for different groups and can see where it would be beneficial. Also, my favorites always disappear so maybe they won't by using these tags.
