I’m a 26 year old who weighs 25lbs and I’ve been wanting to tone up for a good while now but I’m usually pretty embarrassed to work out around people who clearly know what they’re doing. Especially when I feel like I’m not using the equipment properly and people are standing around waiting for me to stop making a fool of myself. So this video was pretty helpful and I love that you included the starter routine. That definitely motivated me into going into the gym again so thanks! I’ll definitely be checking out some of the other vids. Also I must ad that your calm voice helps understand the video better. Usually the workout guides are a little too pumped for my taste and it can be a little distracting.

We're all looking like a bunch of morons, so don't worry. When I tried using the elliptical, my feet would move backwards, and if I would try to use my hands too, I would simply stop in place. Then I moved to the treadmill, and, as I was adjusting the speed, I forgot my finger on the button that increases it, and I almost ended up on one of those KZbin fail videos. The rest of the time, I would just walk around, looking like I know what I was doing. After using the machines backwards and making a fool of myself, I did break a sweat, and it only got better in the next sessions. The best thing, that I think that people don't realize... No one cares! No one will watch you, no one will laugh at you, and that's to a point where you're gonna feel bad because they don't do it, you'll be like "c'mon guys, at least laugh at me because I'm a dumbass..."

@andruins3 жыл бұрын
Andrew Arvelo (HW) THINGS I LEARNED: 1- The first thing that I learned is that the incline treadmill is equally if not more so effective than jogging on it. This shocked me but is honestly completely understandable, when walking and taking your time, you are always making sure you lift your foot up, and you are more controlled, and more parts of your body are being used. 2- The second thing I did not know is when doing tricep ropes, you can have multiple different positions to choose from, I always thought the frontward way he shows, in the beginning, was the only way. 3- The last thing that I learned is that it is important to do specific parts of your body throughout different days of the week, there should always be leg day, chest day, and back day. Overall it is the best way to make sure you get the best of each workout for whatever it is you may be working on.

@BeFitnomenal7 ай бұрын
That's fantastic to hear you're considering starting a workout routine at 70! It's absolutely possible to improve your fitness and well-being at any age. Here's a response to the comment addressing their questions about muscle training and rest days: Muscle Training Frequency: While the video might showcase a specific routine, training each muscle group once a week can be effective, especially for beginners. Here's a breakdown: Twice-a-week training is generally considered optimal for muscle growth. This allows for sufficient stimulation and recovery. Once-a-week training can still lead to progress, particularly when you're starting out or focusing on maintaining muscle mass. The key is to focus on intensity during your workouts. Choose weights or resistance that challenge you for 8-12 repetitions

I'm glad you found it valuable. Helping beginners feel confident in the gym is what I'm all about. There's so much conflicting information out there, so clear and concise instructions are key. By the way, if you're interested in more beginner-friendly content, I have a whole playlist on my channel dedicated to getting started with strength training. It breaks down basic exercises, proper form, and even warm-up/cool-down routines.

hi great video. can you suggest me a similar rutine but for total knee replacement. thanks best regards Miguel
@BeFitnomenal7 ай бұрын
Hey Miguel, This routine might not be the best fit for a total knee replacement though. Safety first! Your best bet is to listen to your physical therapist . I'm sure you're knee has gotten better by now. In the meantime, I have some low-impact workouts on my channel that you might be able to adapt with your PT's help.

thanks to you i've acutally gone to the gym for the first time. The hardest part for me was actually doing the first step thinking everyone is going to jugde me, turns out the receptionist was really nice and the people there just mind thier own buisness. Although i hadn't noticed the hip abductors in mine gym is leg press a vialiable alternative? I just want to thank you for pushing me into making the first step and at the end of the day i feel great that i went there.

I'm still a newbie in the gym despite having been working out consistently for a few months by now. So a lot of machines and racks are still kinda confusing to me. I went around that issue by starting working out at home with just body weight a light weight dumbbell exercises. Eventually though, that started feeling like it wasn't enough for me to progress, so I went back to the gym. Now I'm having youtube teach me how to use the gym equipment. This was a good video, but I felt like it still lacked some important information. Like how to load weights onto barbells, how to get the right angle incline on benches, etc. Right now I'm struggling with even just figuring out how to put on and take off the handle on the lat pulldown machine. I can't reach up to it so I have to stand on my tippy toes and pull it down first, and this has already caused me to injure my hands, because of the amount of weight I'm pulling with just one hand, even with the pin pulled out of the rack. It easily slips out of my grip. I love doing lat pulldowns (especially because I'm still too weak to do pull ups) but that little issue getting the handle on and off the machine is seriously giving me anxiety. How is that meant to be done? Why no instructions? Am I an idiot? I have so many questions! Also how would I go about doing chest presses when I'm too weak to lift the weight of the barbell? I can only lift about half that weight for that kinda exercise.
