Really impressed by this. I remember looking at these LTN alternatives in 1.0 and they were always so complex, but this is really something. I also love the narrow rails bluprint and think that they together make it much easier to setup these gridbases without making a huge grid or taking up all the space with stations and stackers.

Right? I don't see many like it either, it's surprising. You see alot of intersection blueprints the size of Alaska though 😂

Thanks for making IVTN It's the only 2.0 flex train / depot interrupt system which just works consistently for me without any buggy behavior Any tips for a case where you want multiple trains waiting in a bay to unload at a specific dropoff? With the new 2.0 stack inserters, especially at higher quality, unloading can go really fast and belt capacity is very high, so I kind of always need a full train to be waiting behind the train that's currently unloading.

its not really designed for that, that ends up going back to stacker functionality

I wonder, why prevent dynamic trains from dispatching to any free supply station, regardless of whether or not there is demand? This will result in the item being made available quicker once the demand is there. The trains will idle at the supply station, but that is fine as long as you have enough trains, no? Or am I overl,looking something? EDIT: I noticed that's what the dedicated trains do. So my question is then more, why flextrains? It just invites you to expand over your networks train capability and "multiplex" certain demands, but knowing factorio those demands will extend and eventually you need a dedicated train anyway. Also, this system works great on smaller distance but I'd love a dynamic setup that can handle long distances, either using buffer stations or dispatching multiple trains to a supply station. I'll experiment a bit with that... :D

Would this still work if I wanted to use something like 1-4 or 1-4-1 trains? I'm assuming the check on the stations for fullness would need to be modified to account for a larger buffer amount, and the blocks themselves might end up only being able to support 1 1-4 train per side instead of 2 1-2 trains?

Depends on the version, check channel, I made update videos for what is needed for each upgrade

Hello. Why Read train contents and Read train count is activated in the depot station? And why is a combinator needed there? It work perfect without them.

Things look very different in the blueprint book to what you're showing. There's not just one type of depot and they don't align with the tracks of the depot blueprints? A bit confused

I still don't understand why this 120-ticks timer is needed at the depot. This timer starts when the train starts moving to the depot. When the train arrives, a different value is displayed each time. Why do you need this random? to interrupt the "flex deliver" for launching trains that are already filled and placed in the depot ahead of arriving trains?

It's to make sure multiple flex trains don't handle a pickup at the same time

This is realy great train sistem but my only complain is this wooden powerpoles. I had to manualy replace them in every blueprint so i wont need to make their production😂

For next time, you can apply an upgrade planner to a whole blueprint book in one go - hopefully it lets you replace small poles with medium poles that way
