How to use Jio fiber router as a wifi extender or repeater

This is a small video to tell how to configure a spare router as a wifi extender to increase the range of the primary router connection. For this, we need to change the configuration of the router so that it acts as an L2 switch instead of as a gateway itself.

I have jio gigabit router as my main router connected to optical fiber Then i had a spare jio router What i did was Dhcp setting to relay and then i entered my default IP of gigabit router in it. Its working for now but i guess its not that streamline in many circumstances Any comments for this setting Or should i reset it again to what you have shown. Please reply

I had been using my setup for a few months now and I have been getting uninterrupted connection. Your setup seems similar to mine... Instead of dhcp setting try to give some IP to device manually

Hello, the same is the case for me, the internet is very poor. Its like i can't even properly do a speed test with that. And whenever speed test is successful, its only upto 1-2mbps

@@harshit-sahu bro i haven't found any solution for this I tried onother step in it by adding one more VLAN id in addition to the default on in the Network-LAN setting column But still it happens With the settings provided in this video I got high speed no doubt, same as my main router not streamline but yes atleast for some duration with back n forth connect-reconnect. But There is one BIG problem which as of now I couldn't find a solution of.. Which is of IP conflicting This ONLY happens(as per my exp) if you have your Jio router as main router as well as an extra jio router to be used as an extender. Maybe this is a result of how Jio has designed its inbuilt software..(for example FTP is also disabled) IP conflict makes my internet not completely streamline(it may or may not) in the extended router but it conflicts and what it does is.. my main router goes to "no IP found" dialogue. So as of now.. this method is neither streamline nor sustainable . What i want to try is remove the default software from the router and if possible install a new one on it.. if i succeed in it would upload a video for the same.

If you have a valid internet connection... Then there might be IP conflict, make sure every device has unique IP. Main router has IP . 1 , whereas secondary router has IP . 2 and all connecting devices have different IPs

Ok so I connected My secondary Jio Router to My primary with the LAN wire, connected the secondary router to configure it as shown in this video.... But the internet is not working consistently for me to Jio configuration page/network admin page. So i am stuck in the very first step I guess. Any suggestions? Note - All the hardwire I am using are OK. No issue in them.... be it the wires or the routers. Something else is happening.

Try hard-resetting the secondary router... Then remove the lan wire, connect to it using wifi and do the config changes and save and then restart this router by powering it down and then connect lan wire

This password should work only for jio fibre router... Agar kisi ne password change kiya hai toh ek baar router ko hard reset kar do... Pin ghusa ke... And then use this... Aur nhi toh ek baar apne router ke customer care me call kar lo... They will tell the default username and password of ur device

Bhai i have done everything correctly and even the internet is also working but the speed is not good. I have main jio router and a separate jio router which I'm using as extender from main jio router. The internet through the repeater jio router is like not even 5% of actual speed. Also i confirmed with someone they told me that Jio made their new routers in such a way that whenever you use them as an extender from jio itself, it will not pass on speed and signals correctly. Also I'm not the only one, there are many people facing this issue.

I checked in the internet and the default credential for this router is username = admin and password = Jiocentrum. If these are not working then maybe someone has changed those. U can hard reset the router by inserting a needle on the small hole in the edge of the router for 30 sec
