You don't even need a solar panel. Just place an LDR....it will work seamlessly. You can also use 2 units for a 2-way communication. It doesn't just work for analog signals like audio....you can setup a bidirectional serial communication between 2 Arduinos using Tx and Rx pins and a Serial cable and then cut the cable and use a pair or laser diode on the Tx pin and LDR (or photodiode PD333) on the Rx pin. This will enable biirectional digital data communication over Li-Fi. This is the basic POC of Li-Fi proposed by Dr Harold Haas. Great work by CD team though.
