My machine just came from China about 15mins ago in the post. I paid €75 and I am very happy with the quality and sturdiness of this machine. It looks exactly like the one you have here only the legs are different. I look forward to using it with my Hot Pot meals, cheesesteaks and wok recipes. Thanks for sharing your tips!

I own a similar designed slicer. A simple way I adjust the thickness, use 2 quarters side by side for both adjusters so they simply slide out between the thumbwheel and thickness bracket. For thicker cuts I use the hand part of a pencil to adjust the blade.

I just bought one of those expensive electric meat slicers (or "finger slicers," in my case), and I HATED IT. The machine gets so messy and greasy that you'll wind up cleaning out tiny pieces of meat and fat from the damned thing for an hour!! I immediately sent it back, and am going to buy one of these manual slicers I saw you using. Thanks!!!

I hate the electric cutter too.

@@HulaGarden Then you'll LOVE this story... When I took the machine to the local UPS store to be returned, the moment I stepped to the counter, the guy said, "You're turning your finger slicer, huh??," even before I could explain why I was returning it!! I laughed like hell. I guess we're not the only ones.

Here in early 2022. How long until the blade gets dull? One thing that these types of manual slicers might need is to add a short horizontal slicing action in addition to the radial vertical slicing action. The horizontal movement would aid in making easier cuts by introducing the length of the blade to what is being cut. One way to do that is when you pull the handle up, it makes the blade pull forward towards you a little bit & then when you push down it makes the blade slide towards the back a little. The point is it would make the work less harder on your arm by maybe a few percent. You can see this at 2:51 how much arm strength was needed to be used after "It's very tender" & how it felt like the slice action was not smooth. Had if a horizontal slicing movement component was added, that slice would have been more constant & easier. If you have ever cut some kind of hard food, like a block of cheddar cheese or roast turkey, you would most likely have to use a slicing action in the parallel direction of the knife's length. The same could be said of cutting wood with a hand saw. R&D would obviously have to experiment with the engineering of it. This slicing action that I am talking about is also used in circular saws, like with an electric food slicer, where that horizontal slicing action is instead translated into the movement of a rotating circular blade And I wish those black knobs for thickness adjustment were more distanced apart for slightly larger cuts of food, maybe by another inch or so farther apart.

I ordered one of these which has a longer blade because I will be cutting pork belly. But mine is design to cut through bone too, thus a "Meat Bone" slicer. But it will be only frozen meat, no bone. I didn't like my electric meat slicer at all because it was not only cheap but I didn't like cleaning it. A C clamp comes with mine to fasten it to the surface. I cook Japanese recipes most of the time.

Add a link to Amazon for this meat cutter in the description. Something to keep in mind going forward when posting videos using awesome culinary tools most people don't own already. This may also be beneficial for you financially allowing you to invest profits made back into your channel. Or your pocket, but investing into your craft is usually more beneficial in the long term..
