I've had so much success with my tret. After a little bit of trial and the error I was experiencing some minor dryness, no major irritation. But here's what I figured out and it worked so well. I happen to have laroche posse triple repair moisturizing cream for face and body. And alveno 2% oatmeal eczema cream Gel. I take A pea sized amount of that moisturizer and put it on my face while it's almost dripping wet. I basically turn this into a very hydrating toner .. Then I wait 30 minutes for my face to be completely dry. And apply the tret..... I wait a few minutes for it to absorb. And then I do a double moisturizer. Alveno eczema therpy and more triple repair. This also scratches that itch to have a multi step skin care. Because I love taking my time and applying multiple products at night. So this scratched the itch, but also helped with the tolerance. On off nights, i basted with cicaplast balm or but paste. It took only 3 weeks to get to daily use.

Always thorough! I started Tret in January, used it directly after cleansing, found myself turning into a tomato 🍅 then learned about the sandwich method. Now I follow this method: cleanse, toner, eye serum, Cera ve pm, tret, peptides, Cera ve moisturizer done 5 days, 3 tret, exfoliate, 2 tret, exfoliate, seems to work well, skin is softer.

Hi dr. Dray, perfect timing for this video as I've started experiencing irritation top of my upper lips, my chin and also dryness on my forehead. Using retinol isn't new to me. I've been using CeraVe retinol serum for a couple years now but had no issue. I started the GoldBond retinol cream since December as I wanted to try it out and it was great but this irritation started could weeks ago. I thought maybe pollen allergy. I use vaseline in those areas and switched to Cetaphil hydrating cleanser and stopped the CerVe acne face wash. It does work but I have to reapply vaseline in the middle of the day. Does weather contribute these symptoms too?

HMMM. I switched to putting the tretinoin (a rather cosmetically elegant cream medication) on right after hydrating toner, but then if you let it dry to let it do it's thing before moving on, the skin gets grippy and it hinders the smooth application of serums and shit after it, so it's good to see that the order doesn't actually really matter there, for reasons outside of whether the skin tolerates it or not. Also if you don't let it dry enough, that makes the next steps apply easier, but then you're spreading tretinoin to areas you might not want it as much, and it's also kind of mixing it with other ingredients which might not always be great as far as changing chemical structures and whatnot, and it's going to dilute it, which might be fine but yea.

Hi Dr. Dray, I tried 0.03% retinol since I'm a beginner and experienced insomnia and woke up the next day with a migraine. I know it was the retinol because I have a regular routine and it was the only thing that changed :/ Looking up online I'm not alone and I even found neurology journal links referencing intercranial pressure and other side effects like joint pain with vitamin A topicals. I assume I am in the minority since most don't seem to experience these issues, but why is this never talked about? It's come to the point where people online gaslight me about my experiences, because they have never heard of it happening, which is super frustrating.
