Definitely test it in your space. I have true white floor tiles and oak cabinets. This color wasn't warm enough for my space and had a green tint

I love this guy. I don’t *need* to paint the exterior of my home, but I have been wanting to. Will pull the trigger sooner than planned now that I have him to hire as a resource. I often don’t paint because I don’t want to have to redo it when I don’t love it. The appearance of the color in the bedroom (2:29) is surprisingly darker like taupe! It does not look white at all. What brighter white Sherwin williams color wall paint would go well when Alabaster as on trim/baseboard/doors?

HI, I'm glad you like Alabaster as your trim and ceiling color, that's awesome:) Perfect greige has violet undertones and sometimes you can see a hint of pink undertones depending on the lighting and etc. Perhaps your undertones are not pairing with either the paint color, interior decor or fixed elements that you have in your room?www.jacobowensdesigns.com

I have an east-facing house. I painted my living room with Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee (25% lighter). My ceiling is Chantilly Lace, and the trim is Super White by BM. I can't decide which color will look best in the basement, should I go with Swiss Coffee 25% lighter, White Dove or SW Alabaster? :) I love the creamy colors, but I don't like the yellow undertone. My floors are brown engineered hardwood. Choosing colors is hard, I love your videos!

Recently, I painted with alabaster my bedroom and dining room, both facing east and I find that alabaster make those room muted. I would have tried the snowbound, downy or creamy.

Yes, linen white pairs with Alabaster. As for the trims it depends on a lot of factors especially the fixed elements in your space. If you want a lighter trim then try SW Pure White.

I’m a little upset. I have south facing family room and kitchen. On the sample it looked like a warm white. I feel like it just looks grey/blue tint and I hate grey tbh. I’ve come to far to turn back now. Would painting my trim a bright white warm it up? My furniture is white. Darker brown distressed floors and furniture. And gold and bronze accents. Looks great in early morning and at night but once the sun hits it looks pale blue grey. Help!!!!

I don’t have a lot of natural light in my room and went with the alabaster. It appears to have much more of a taupe undertone to me. It’s still pretty but you’re right, lighting is everything.

Looking for a whole house interior paint color for our traditional colonial. We have honey oak kitchen cabinets and stair banister and spindles are honey oak. We have cream/grey/beige ceramic tile from front door into kitchen. The rest of the flooring is a medium walnut wood flooring. We do not want to change the above. Would SW Alabaster work?

Alabaster is one of those words I know but didn’t know the exact definition of - Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone that can be carved easily and has a beautiful, white finish. It is made of calcite or gypsum mineral and has uniformed fine grain.

So if this color in south facing exposure is complementary to blue-green, would the same be true with green-blue (like BM prescott green on fixed element)? Does the formula reverse itself blue-green to green-blue? Curious, these warm greens can be tricky dicky (needs a video). Thanks!

Alabaster on SW facing room with floor to ceiling windows made this color look like a high relective green/-yellow. It is horrible. A very very bright glowing hue. By glowing I mean you could put a stripe on your jacket for cycling at night. On a darker wall north facing with darker shadows, with very little light.. it is a gorgeous color. Soft and creamy..If your bedroom has lots of window facing the sun...this probably isn't the most soothing color.

Hey Jacob! Looking at both Alabaster and westhighland white. I get a ton of sunlight in my space- West facing bedroom. I want a color that is just the background for my ever evolving taste- I change bedding seasonally but tend towards cool greys, warm whites and strong accent colors (oranges, dark greens, even pinks). What is the best do it all white without looking like it is "just white"

Hi Sylvia, hard to say without any visuals of your interior decor and fixed elements. I would be concerned about undertone reflections from outside your windows and perhaps the interior as well.

I wish I would have seen this video earlier!!!! I just repainted the whole house with BEHR calcium, yes, one color. That turned the entire feeling soooo cold and weird. I am wondering anything I could do to save my house without repainting every wall and celling? Btw, don’t use Calcium and you will regret

Thanks for this video! It was really helpful. Since you said we could ask questions I think I’ll take you up on that! We are considering Alabaster or White Duck for painting our entire main floor. Our home was built in 2009 and we want to take the walls from the dark tanish/yellow to something light, fresh and airy feeling. We have yellow tones in our granite and tile (tile in bathrooms and laundry) dark wood floors with red and yellow tones in the kitchen, Kitchen cabinets are dark alder with red undertones, island and hutch are a dark antiqued yellow/white (I plan to paint those a white to brighten up the kitchen and compliment what wall and trim paint we choose). We have vaulted ceilings with a lot of windows and light throughout the main. I love the look of Alabaster but wondering, will it bring out the yellow in our granite too much, or will it compliment it? I tried painting our small bathroom Shoji white (was thinking that might be out color for the whole main) but feel it looks a bit too green against the light yellowish tile. We thought we liked Greige so White Duck seems a bit warmer option than Shoji and still the light and airy feel we are wanting, but today I came across Alabaster and wondered if the warmth of it would compliment what we have better? It looks beautiful in the photos I’ve seen but wondering if it will work with our existing colors. What is your opinion? Thank you!!

I have a dark basement with low ceilings and very little natural light but adding recessed lights soon. Furniture is neutral off white and I will add pops of color with throw pillows and artwork. Hi Jacob, fun to discover you today! Since we are "staying at home" in Minnesota, we are tired of our dark house and dated cream walls. What brightening white color would you recommend for a north-facing family room/great room, that doesn't get a lot of light. The trim and kitchen cabinets are a bright white, and floors are a medium pine. We want to brighten the room! No yellow or grey because it will look dingy. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Liz:) It's hard to say without any visuals. Interior decor will have strong play into what paint colors will work. I wouldn't recommend off whites but perhaps go with a greige paint colors. Remember, there is no such thing as the perfect light neutral paint color that will work in every North facing room. Every home is unique and there are so many different factors at play.

Help! SOS. I am in the process of painting whole house Agreeable Gray. Painter chose Pure White for trim. Has painted one room so far & Pure White seems a little stark. I love Shabby Chic & never like colors with stark contrast. Should I use Alabaster as my trim instead? I just love a soft transition. Hi Vicki, I hope Agreeable Gray will work beautifully in your home:) It's important the trims not only pairs with the wall color but the ceiling color as well. Also, make sure the trim pairs correctly with the fixed elements that you have in your home. I never pair a trim color strictly based on a wall paint color. I wish you the best:) Maybe try Chantilly Lace instead of Pure White but I have no idea without any visuals of your home.
