CORRECTIONS: The "mouse-sensitivity.com" method isn't really consistent! As I mentioned in the video, it mainly relies on the game not having mouse acceleration and smoothing. But the real key is whether the game uses raw mouse input. To figure out if that's the case, you'll have to do a little bit of Googling (I suggest checking out www.pcgamingwiki.com). If it turns out that's not the case, then you'll have to use the slower method to calibrate gyro/Flick Stick!

I love that you're using the new mode in desktop! When tuning it, I was also clicking around my windows UI. It's what convinced me that the speed deadzone would be helpful - I find it pretty easy to click on even small UI objects now, especially with the precision zone. I showed it to a colleague who was playing a Dicey Dungeons, and he was immediately just "getting it". Feels like a laser pointer.

A guy commented that I should use it on the desktop to really hammer the point that this is just like a mouse. Jibb also told me something similar, it just happened that this time it's actually super easy to do that. So 90% of the mouse cursor on this video is controlled by gyro :D

Hey, I recently found out about gyro, and I immediately had this idea to use it instead of the mouse when producing music in FL Studio and working in other programs on windows, and also gaming. Gyro should always be treated as a mouse, so it doesn't really matter what controller you are using. That said, joy-cons do sound more interesting for what you are trying to do. Just know that joy-cons will require a good Bluetooth connection, that most cheap "off-brand" alternatives won't work as intended. You may also want to watch my gyro in-depth guide, it's a little outdated, but there I teach all of the fundamentals of a good gyro experience. Hope this helps!

I just started using the mouse-sensitivity website to check my calibrations, and now those same calibrations carry over to gyro so now the aim sensitivity should be the same between all games :D

I will make a video about it once they start working properly, when that happens, I will probably start to use player space for now on.

I was enjoying the overhaul on my Steam deck before it suddenly stopped receiving any type of charge, forcing me to send it in for repairs. Anyways my favorite feature of this is the Vertical/Horizontal mix setting as a 1:1 sensitivity feels better to me than a ratio that’s intended for a 16:9 or 16:10 screen.

Actually this depends on the game. Titanfall 2 still has it even if you use gyro. But Borderlands 3 and Overwatch, for example, don't know if you are using a mouse or a controller, so rumble doesn't work ;-;

It is a nice setting however it works for gyro but the flick stick doesn't turn 180 either it overshoot or turn 90 degree but not a full 180 if you try 1.0 as a sensitivity I tried this on tf2 and halo with the 360 pixel calculations from the site using 1.0 mouse in game sensitivity it showed halo with 7272 and tf2 with 16343. gyro works but flick overshoots on tf2 but on halo infinite it doesn't do 180 it only turns 90. I suggest they let have separate pixel settings for gyro and flick stick. Please share a solution if possible

The values should be the same, it was designed that way. You should make sure that mouse acceleration isn't active. I was testing some games with Flick Stick in the most recent update, it really doesn't seem to be working perfectly rn. We need to wait for a new update. These bugs are normal and expected since we are using beta updates.

You don't have to follow this guide for MW3. MW3 has native gyro and Flick Stick support on the settings of the game. Just make sure to disable Steam Input to make use of this feature. Also, make sure you are using a PlayStation 4 or a PlayStation 5 controller. Nintendo switch controllers aren't supported.

Make sure you follow all these steps: - Use a playstation controller connected through a USB connection. - disable Steam Input. - In-game, activate gyro. I believe it's on the "aim assist" tab. - Make sure to choose your preferred gyro activation method. You can activate the gyro only when you press the aim button, or when you touch the touchpad, or leave it on all the time.

Both are very good. Tho I think the PS5 controller is easier to set up and has a couple more buttons that will definitely make your life easier.

Kinda. You can change the "gyro orientation" to "laser pointer". Gyro sensors and the wii mote work in very different ways, so it's impossible to completely replicate the feeling, but this is probably the closest you can get.

It's really impressive how accurate is the flick stick that you show at 1:32, as it makes a perfect 360º. As I mentioned, I'm using the "cool method" from mouse-sensitivity (I got the 360º distance values from there). I tested the following: 1280 x 800 resolution and Field of View 90. 1st test Mouse sensitivity: 60 (default value) 360º distance: 1092 counts 2nd test Mouse sensitivity: 10 (as suggested in your Borderlands 2 video) 360º distance: 6553 counts In both cases, the result is widely inaccurate: not only it never returns to the starting point when I try 4x90º or 2x180º, but each spin is different from the previous one, even if the starting point is exactly the same. I tested with both Mousing smoothing off (as suggested in both video) and on, but the result is always inconsistent as described above. Can you give any additional hint? I really like this option and would appreciate to make it work.

Huuuum. That's weird, if you don't have mouse smoothing active, then it should work as expected. The only thing that I can think that may be causing problems is the new orientation modes on Gyro as Mouse mode, like local space, player space and world space. Local space is the best option for steam Deck, but they are a bit buggy rn, especially player space. They shouldn't affect flickstick, but they did on cyberpunk 2077, so that may solve your issue. If that doesn't help, I recommend making a post about it on the Steam Deck sub reddit and/or on the gyro gaming sub reddit.

Well, I managed to make it work like this, but not as many video guides say: I set *Flick Stick Sensitivity: 0x* and Snapping *Angle: 90 degrees.* So now I'm able to make a perfect (or almost perfect) 360º spin, but at the cost of not being able to use the joystick to slowly turn around by using the outer ring command. Do you have a similar experience?

@the11thhour44 probably the controller. Steam is working just fine for everyone else as far as I know. Check the controller's manual to see if there is a button combination to calibrate gyro this is very common in third party controllers

I wanted to add a layer to disable gyro with R3 like in your previous video, but there is no "disable" gyro option in the new layer.

You may be looking on the wrong place. Just to make sure, the correct way is to: On the layer that you created, go to the gyro tab and disable gyro. Go back to the default layer, and on R3 create an extra command, bind the extra command to "hold action layer". Change the extra command to long press and decrease the long press time to 150. That should work!

You must use a Gyro compatible controller, such as: Dualshock4, DualSense, Switch Pro controller, Steam Controller or Steam Deck. Xbox controllers don't have gyro.

FlickStick is optional. You will need to use flickstick just to calibrate the new mode, then you can disable flickstick!

The new update has the right touch pad as a gyro enable button by default, make sure to disable that. Also, there is no Bethesda game that accepts mixed inputs, so you need to emulate a keyboard and mouse or download a mod that enables that, usually it's a mod for Steam Controller players. I don't have an armor X pro, but I think you need to change the mode so steam can recognize it as a PS4 controller. Make sure to not use any extra programs to connect the controller to your pc

Hi great video. I am having some problems though trying to get it to work. I use a dualshock 4 controller and tried to use the gyro activation button. It does not matter if set it to "off", "on" or "toggle" it will always stay on. Then I tried using it with action layers where it seemed to work but now it does sometimes remain on when the button is not held down anymore. I am trying this for an old game evolve that does not support ps4 input but that seems no problem. I am trying to add gyro when L2 is held down so I can get used to it a bit but it seems like it does not work as well as hoped. The "gamepad with mouse and gyro" standard steam layout is the one I try to create but if i simple select that one gyro always remains on. Anyone else who has had similar problems that can help me?

Steam beta is having problems right now, just go back to the stable steam version. "Gyro to mouse" has already been added to the stable version.
