@@MadAboutSkin hi I have a question I have never used a chemical exfoliants before but I am experiencing some dry flaky spots and uneven texture. I’m not sure how to use it can I put it around my nose which is why I’m having a lot of dry flaky spots? On upper lip? and do I follow up with a moisturizer or will that penetrate and make the lactic acid too strong?

Honestly your videos are so great (super educational, I take notes! succinct but so fun to watch)! My acid use is changing now: before, only used glycolic toner v judiciously!) mandelic acid serum; EUK for anti oxidant. That combo was wonderful for 6 months+ at least. My skin is more robust now (clear bright smooth soft for solid 3-4 months) using the toner regularly now, like daily! I received Hyalmide products, they ROCK!!! Thanks so much.

Being a skincare "nerd," I absolutely love your videos. They are packed with information where I learn many new things. I have used this product for three years, but since my skin has recently become more sensitive, I bought a bottle of mandelic acid to mix it with. Once I finish these products I will be buying the 5% strength. Lactic acid, combined with niacinamide and a retinol, have cleared up all hyperpigmentation and texture on my skin! (Plus the peeling mask once a week.)

Hey Patti, i hope you have had a great week.. It sounds like mandelic may be the best exfoliator for you.. I love lactic but mandelic is even more gentle. I have found my skin drying out over the past few years and so i have been reaching for the lactic acid more and more xx

R Al I have been working on my skin for several years now. It is a slow process, but keep at it. I wish I had taken monthly photos so I could be more specific. I even have a mole on my cheek that has lost all it’s pigmentation. I think the peeling mask helps the most. The main thing is to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. You don’t want tot rush it and damage the skin!

About a month ago I implemented the 10% lactic acid and the buffet serum in my routine (I don't use them at the same time of the day). I use the lactic acid 1-2x a week and the buffet all of the other days I don't use the exfoliant, at night. I'm not sure if it's normal but I noticed results right away! It doesn't harm my skin in any way, it made it soft right at the first day and it's getting plumper and healthier. I don't know which of the 2 did it or if it's the 2 together but I'm very happy!

I love that you talk about skin color, demographic rarely mentioned in skin care videos. Question: how will you mix/layer this with vitamin A, C and niacinamide?
@MadAboutSkin
@MadAboutSkin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi hun thank you so much for watching and I think its such a shame people only ever talk about and reference their own skin tone but hopfully that will start to change.. In terms of layering I would put this on after cleansing and then apply my vitamin c followed by the niacinamide and then the retinol.. The order can be flexible so long as you put the lactic acid on first and allow it a min to sink in before applying other products on top xx

I got the 10 percent a few days ago and I love it! Obviously, I wouldn't be seeing significant results already, but I really love the faintly tangy, fruity smell and smooth application. I have slightly sensitive skin that breaks out to HA, but this has not irritated my skin anyhow.

Hey hun thakn you so much for watching and for sharing your experiences with the products.. Your right it does has a pleasant smell which is unusual for an exfoliating acid lol and I am so glad to hear that the HA isnt breaking you out, I think HA is best used with an exfoliator to prevent this whilst adding the hydration xx

good info, just what I wanted to know. I have sensitive skin and purchased the 10% Lactic Acid. I put it on the cleansed face, leave it for about 5 minutes and then rinse it off with water. I seem to be doing ok with that method. Once the bottle is empty I'll give the 5% a try. Perhaps I can leave that on without rinsing off/ Thanks for 2 videos in one day! You work very hard

You really do have a video for everything I need! haha. I just picked the ordinary 10% lactic acid today, and i'm patch testing (as of now, no reaction!). I've used glycolic acid frequently before, so i'm not too worried about irritation, but it dawned on my that the cleanser I use (CeraVe SA smoothing cleanser) contains some salicylic acid. Of course it's not a high concentration, it's a wash off product and it's a BHA not an AHA, but I was wondering whether it would be a problem to use these together? Thanks so much!! and another thank you for helping me so much on my skincare journey x

Just came across your channel, and I found this really helpful! Just wanted to ask if exfoliation is a necessary step? I personally don’t have any skin problems besides the occasional breakout, but I do suffer from mild eczema and notice skin buildup when I do physical exfoliation. Would you suggest still using this 5% LA? I was also considering the LA of the Inkey List. Thanks! :)

hi! is it okay to layer lactic acid on top of a toner that has citric acid? or would it be too much on my skin?
@MadAboutSkin
@MadAboutSkin 3 жыл бұрын
Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and thats a great question.. You can layer it with that toner as the citric acid is only in small amounts usually to balance the PH so shouldn't be an issue.. Sending lots of love xx

Hey! I’m thinking of getting the 10% solution soon. How many times a week do you think I should use it? Also do you wash this off or leave it on?
@MadAboutSkin
@MadAboutSkin 3 жыл бұрын
Hey hun great question.. You can use it every day though I would usually say 3 times a week should be enough for most people. You should leave it on as it self neutralises after a time and will continue to hydrate.. I hope this helps and let me know what you think of it if you do try it :) xx

I can get bad PIH without even having a spot. My skin is weird, I’m very light but my great grandpa an American Indian & I used to be very tan. So maybe that’s why. I don’t get back acne but what helped w spots & the leftover mark was the inkey list succinic acid most mornings & the ordinary lactic acid once a week. Or twice. It moisturizes a lot for me too so I love that about it. Trying to find a balance between the 2 products bc I love both but for different reasons. And I think daily for the succinic acid (it’s mostly salicylic acid & sulfur) isn’t supposed to be used daily I thought...

@MadAboutSkin
@MadAboutSkin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi hun thank you so so much for watching and I think you should be ok with the product as it is gentle when compared to other acids.. I would put a very small layer on the skin and then wash it off after 5 mins which will minimise irritation and then continue with the rest of your routine.. I have 2 bottles of the 10% lactic acid in my skincare stash... I haven’t used it yet as I am using the glycolic toner and the aha/bha peeling solution... am I able to use the lactic acid as a spot treatment for those occasional breakouts, or would that be acid overkill for my skin?

Hey hun I hope all is good with you.. I always say that serums go on better on damp skin and so I would recommend a spritz before application.. I also bought a vitamin C serum and a salicylic acid serum. Hey hun thank you so so much for watching and welcome to the channel..
