Your video showed you doing the join on two ends. But it seems that if I'm joining the yarn from my project to a new ball of the same yarn I only have to do it once. What am I missing?

I'm not sure I understand your question. But you are essentially weaving the end of the existing yarn into the new yarn and the end of the new yarn into the existing. I think if you try it, you'll see.

@@Nourishandnestle That's OK. I did try it but my project is 100% cotton and it was tricky. Plus the ends didn't stay in place as they did on your video. I'll definitely use this method on other projects.
