May I say? 1Ex.: "If he were you he'd sell ..." becomes "Were he you he'd sell ....". 2Ex.: "If the Sun were ( was ) shining I would go..." becomes "Were ( was ) the Sun to shine ( to be shining ) I would go...." 7:37 min WOULD RATHER / SOONER to talk about past preferences. 3rd example but changed ie. there is no change in subject. May I use perfect infinitive eg. "They'd rather have asked them for the money instead of getting a bank loan". One more example "I'd rather have eaten in those memorable nights"
