My skin has improved so much since I started to actually educate myself on ingredients. My next step is introducing retinoids. My skin used to purge so much with all the actives but now my skin has calmed down and seems to like the active ingredients and new moisturiser :)

@@sidraaslam3315 I would recommend the ordinary, cerave, tropic skin care and face theory as good brands to use. I would say everyone's skin is different so you need to find what works for you. I tend to use a natural toner followed by a moisturiser and a bit of oil mixed in. Then sometimes I will use a serum before my moisturiser but not always.

For all those who have asked in the comments..... yes you can use a toner before retinol. However, most skins will tolerate a non acidic toner best. Yes you can follow it with serum, moisturizer or oil, especially if you have sensitized skin. The regime should be to cleanse skin thoroughly, pat skin completely dry, non acidic toner ONLY IF YOU NEED IT, layer of RETINOL, then a serum or oil IF YOU NEED IT.. which you will only if your skin is naturally dry, sensitive/irritated, or dehydrated. Mild cleanser [milk,balm,cream types] in the morning. ...follow with your serums, and moisturizer, and FINISH always with sun screen if it is not in a HIGH spf in your moisturizer.

Hiii I really love this channel for beauty info. It’s very professional and concisely explained. However, as an optometrist, I just want to mention that vitamin A in carrot doesn’t help eye sight directly. The vitamins A that the eye need is actually internal converted. Thus the carrot we eat need to be broken down to basics molecule before it get rebuilt back in the eyes. The main vitamins needed for macula is lutein. I think it’s great you guys doing these video but please don’t confuse the public even more, as we have already been taught the wrong info for decades if not centuries.

I use tretinoin 0.025 and I defiantly slowly got my skin use to it because my previous dermatologist gave me retin-a 0.075 and my skin wouldn’t stop shedding and peeling and she never told me to use hydrating products so it was really Bad. this time around I started low and slow and used lots of hydrating products and the results are 100% better with no peeling (but it does dry the skin so all the hydrating products help!)

@Count Roy I'd recommend using it before then! If you look young now and you're not using sunscreen, using sunscreen alongside a skincare routine can help keep your skin that way as you get older and prevent it from showing the signs of aging! Of course, your skin will age, but you can significantly slow down the process with sunscreen and a skincare routine!

I used a retinol cream once with a dime-sized bit of the cream and it burned into my skin as if I had been out in the sun for weeks without sunscreen. Afterwards I read the bottle to only apply a LITTLE BIT i first time uses and apply every other day for the first two weeks, because applying a lot every day will burn your skin if you have sensitive skin like me. After I introduced it slowly into my skin routine, it really cleared away a lot of acne scarring and helped moisturize. Just know when and how to add new things into your beauty routine :)

Dear Beauty Within team, I do hope you read this. I have concerns about Retinol and the Hayflick Limit. Please hear me out. Since each and every one of our cells has a limit to the number of times they can split and renew themselves - Hayflick Limit. Won't retinol speed up aging over time since it prematurely makes the cell to divide faster?? There are many conflicting articles on this and many of them are assuring but not conclusive. Please do consider making a video on this topic. Thank you.

Granactive retinol Is retinol just weaker then let’s say a prescription Retinol. The difference is the percentage I believe. Also, you have to built your retinol tolerance. You shouldn’t start using prescription right of the bat because skin will react to it so staring with ordinary retinol is best then slowly go higher in percentage as you go.

Wear sunscreen everyday!! Make sure it’s a good and anti acne causing one. I would also suggest retinol and vitamin c serum. I’m really struggling rn and I think I’m gonna do accutane:/ do whatever is best for you!

It does help control oil, but I would say perhaps using a salicylic acid and niacinamide can also do that without the drying effects of retinol - fel

Omg I’ve been using retionids since I was 16 and now I am 19. The first year it has made my skin clear completely from my acne but ever since I started college I broke out again and now is clearing up again. Mine is the lowest percentage of Retionids and got it from my dermatologist. I used to put it on my whole face at night daily but now only spot concealed. I saw someone put it on their whole face and neck to delay their aging so idk if that’s safe or what. But it works for them

Hey girls! I have purchased the Neutrogena moisturiser, because I didn't want a strong retinol. I never used retinol (or anything related) till now, I'm 21 and my main problem is acne. How should I use it? Once a day , at the night time and next day morning sunscreen? Thank you for your great videos! Keep up the good work!

if you have acne you should go to a dermatologist first, write down everything you wanna ask so you don't forget anything. I tell you from my own experience that trying to be self-taught can make your skin worse, there are different types of acne that need different products.

I often hear from skincare you tubers that it would be more beneficial to use the vitamin c in the morning because it helps fight free radicals(which are from uv from the sun) and then follow up with a sunscreen. And then at night use the retinol because it’ll make ur skin more sensitive. But I’m not any professional at all just watch a lot of hyram, Susan Yara and beauty within lol.

On the nights when using the retinol do you still use toner, serum and face oil? Or do you only use this with a moisturizer and no other products? My skin just recently freaked out and was irritated and itchy and tight and I did some research and realized my skin barrier was broken. So I’m in the process of fixing this, but will eventually slowly start incorporating other products. Just want to make sure I use this right and don’t cause another freak out for my skin. You guys should do a video on how to fix the skin barrier and once it’s fixed how to incorporate products into your routine again! You girls are awesome! ❤️ thank you for all of the amazing info!

@jdishmael001
@jdishmael001 5 жыл бұрын
you may use all of the products you mentioned while using retinol. However, retinol must be applied FIRST to the skin after it is cleansed and dry. With your particular skin concerns I would follow it up shortly after application with a very mild thick serum and or thick facial oil. your skin will thank you
@HarukaJoge

Do NOT use toners with retinoids or vitamin a. A lot of toners have alcohol and will make your skin dry out and be really irritated when mixed with retinoids. But you can use hydrated serums and oils defiantly

Can you please do a video about incorporating Tretanoin into your skincare routine? I have lots of products -serums, acids, moisturizers, masks, etc. - and I’m not sure what I can use with Tretanoin because I have so many active ingredients at my fingertips! I don’t want to irritate or inflame my 50 year old, acne prone skin. TYIA!
@sarahgiggles9444
@sarahgiggles9444 5 жыл бұрын
Tretinoin (aka Retin-A Micro) is just a prescription retinoid so you can basically follow the advice in this video. As the prescription form it will be strong, so you can mix it with moisturizer a couple nights a week for a while to build your skin's tolerance to it. Search on Beauty Within's channel to find their video of products you shouldn't use together - you'll notice retinoids are listed a couple of times on it. Basically, if you're using a retinoid it should be the only "aggressive" thing you use on your skin that day. Keep the rest super gentle - wash, dry, tone, retinoid, moisturizer, maybe an oil, and that's it! Save serums, acne treatments, and chemical exfoliators for your "off" days when you're not using retinoids because mixing it all together can just make your skin super irritated and angry.
