good video .. brother have questions about inverter for freightliner Cascadia 2016 semi truck 1500 should be enough to run mini AC fridge and small microwave .. if the truck engine off can I use microwave and what gonna happen for the fridge when the engine off have to turn off the fridge or have to start truck engine ... by the way I see you turn the TV on and truck engine was off that's not gonna drain battery's ? appreciate for you
@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane7 жыл бұрын
Maher A 1500 should be enough for a small fridge but look at wattage output first before you buy it, also if your try using the microwave while the fridge is running you might blow the in line fuse due to too much of a amp draw, and the reason I was able to run tv with truck off is because it only pulls about 20 watts it's not much power so battery won't die also the truck has about 4000 miles so I knew the batteries could handle it, if your thinking of running a fridge and microwave I would think about getting a 3000 watt unless you are going to hook up the fridge to the trucks wiring because in that case you wouldn't need the inverter.

Are you use 4gauge cable ??? How work's?? No hot cable when you are using the microwave?? Thanks for you answer , many people recomend 0 gauge cable
@rond48685 жыл бұрын
Good work, nice job. I need some help: Q. What size cable/wiring did you use (cables from batteries to inverter)? 0 gauge? Q. Why did you choose to use a 150 amp fuse? Why not just 50, 75 or 100?
@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane5 жыл бұрын
If you go to loves I believe they tell you what gauge wire you need on a little chart it all depends on the length and power you plan on pulling mine were 4 gauge and a 6 gauge I would stick to a 4 gauge Also I choose to use the 150 because that's what I was able to get my hands on and if you look at online charts some places tell you depending on what you plan to use your inverter for what size fuse to use.

I didn’t see the extension cord where it goes in truck. I have inverter installed and want to have power in each outlet. But I couldn’t find to connect them all with investor.

The volvo has an outlet to connect shore power, so he plugged extension cord from inverter to shore power outlet on outside.

I got a truck at work and has the central control panel in the compartment and outlets inside the can and a fridge. I assume if I connect an inverter the same way the fridge and outlets should work?

Couldn't I just run a male to male extension from my power inverter to the cab power outlet plug where the GCFI is to power all the outlets that cab power is connected to in the truck? If so then I only need like 12 inches of cord and voila power to the 110v outlets in the cab.
@sxty8chrgr2 жыл бұрын
Okay so that Phillips and temro box is only for shore power? That little gray box is not an inverter I'm assuming?
@jz35722 ай бұрын
On the factory inverter it plugs into quick connects and routes power to outlets all over the sleeper.

What’s the extension cord for ?
@rndygong4 жыл бұрын
So after inventer install you run a extension cord out side the truck to power the outlet
@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane4 жыл бұрын
That's how I did it you could do a cord with two male ends and just plug in to the little box inside the truck and get the same results

Great video! I recently had to switch trucks. It has a 2000watt inverter. Got a 14 vnl 680. I got the fridge that comes with truck connected to inverter. Then a microwave to one of the outlets. Every time I use the microwave the inverter shuts off. Know what it might be?
@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane5 жыл бұрын
Maybe the inverter is going out or the microwave and fridge are drawing to much power not sure it seems like the inverter can't handle it though
@hectorjimenez13615 жыл бұрын
Adventures Of Chris And Jane I appreciate the reply. Yeah I tried the microwave only straight to inverter and still cut off. Might try just getting a new inverter. Thanks for the help

You should have your refrigerator already set up to the batteries from factory, soo it will not interfere with the inverter

@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane3 жыл бұрын
To the positive side of the battery with an inline fuse
@jatt22ful3 жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresOfChrisAndJane not that one. I know you hook up red and black. Red goes to the battery(+) side and black(-) side. But other wire. Power cord from the side, maybe it’s orange then. Where you turn the inverter on right next too it.

It is impossible to short out a ground wire the sparks when you hooked up the red hot wire was epic

so, plug into inverter first. Then ground wire to battery? then positive to battery? In that order?

Unless you actually planned to do it correctly. Are you trying to get people to shock the shit out of themselves?! It’s even an ASE test question on all of the tests for heavy truck and automotive. Negative is last to go on first to come off.
