Back on Lake X for the first time in almost 2 years!!! I missed this place so much, but where the HECK have all the lakers gone?! Enjoy and watch till the end for one of my childhood favorite places :)

Thanks for actually showing the fish finder screen and describing things. You have no idea how helpful that information is! I spent two weeks on a NY finger lake where the trout are in 140 fow. Tight to the bottom to about 25 feet up suspended. I had over 100 fish chase my tackle both down and up but only 5 lake trout hit. I was beginning to think it was bait fish LOL

They are definitely frustrating to fish for when they're chasing and note biting, as Guillaume found out lol! Just have to be patient and make them chase it. It's kind of the opposite of ice fishing where I make the fish chase it upwards... with lakers I tend to make them chase downward to get the strikes. Thanks so much for the comment!

I was originally from Upstate NY and used to do the video game fishing up there. In Florida now and most water less than 10' so not much video fishing here 😟 I watched all the way to the end for more of that but all I got was raisin rolls! I will be fishing in NY next month in the Adirondacks but will not have my boat and electronics. Great video!

🤣🤣 those raisin rolls are the bomb though!! Yeah you definitely can't do this in 10 ft of water but I guess in 10 ft of water you can use the panoptics in front and watch the fish that way. I can't wait to go back to New York and get some fishing in on Champlain!

If you ground your trolling motor sleg back to the battery it will get rid of the interference on your sonar

Nope, tried that too.

Maybe switch to lighter gear so you have some time to set the hook? Hate to see you miss those hooksets!
@DanRichardFishing3 жыл бұрын
Possibly, it's not normal to have so many misses, the trout were really acting weird... they seem to be bumping and maybe just slightly mouthing the baits but not actually eating. Typically when you get a tap and set, you hook up 99% of the time although some may get unpinned during the fight because they have those really tough jaws. First time I fish there and I get so many missed bites. It was also strange to get so many follows on the sonar with no bite, Guillaume was ready to have a fit. Typically if you drop it in front of them and you see them chase, you're getting bit. We'll have to give it another crack soon!

Great Video! , toss those GoPro's in the garbage , I tried Hero 7 and 9 for ice fishing this year and they always died and froze. I purchased DJI Action and they have better battery life and actually work in -30C to +30C
@DanRichardFishing3 жыл бұрын
I actually have both! My DJI Action is the camera that captures the action from the back of the boat and my GoPro 7 is my chest cam! I haven't had ANY issues with my 7 sicne I stopped using third party batteries last year so this was REALLY weird. The video clip starts right after we net the fish, I have no idea why, I thought it was recording the entire time and I didn't touch a thing. Really weird. And of course it has to do that when we catch the ONLY laker after 5 hours!!! I do like my DJI Action BUT I did notice the colors are nicer on the GoPro and the DJI is horrible in lower light vs the GoPro. I love the front screen on it though, unfortunately I managed to crack it in half somehow so I can't dunk it under water lol!
