Thanks for that video. I was already interested in Zojirushi before that video, but now I'm absolutely shure to buy a induction heating rice cooker from that japanese company. Your rice looks perfect and comes fluffy out of the cooker. 😍 With my electronic rice cooker from Europe, rice always stucks at the bottom, even with fuzzy logic programms and the correct amount of water. I like the sound the Zojirushi makes when finished! ^^ Greetings from Bavaria, Germany. 🙂👍🏻

Great video from Alvin the chipmunk :) Here's what finally worked for me using the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 rice cooker: 1). Two cups(or more if you like but remember to fill to the corresponding line in the cooker) of EXACTLY measure rice in the supplied green rice measuring cup since the rice I am using is Nikishi pre-washed rice. 2). Rinse rice 4 or 5 times until the water is as clear as you can get it. Put rinsed rice in cooker. 3). Fill cooker to corresponding line. So two cups of rice = filling the bowl with water to the #2 mark. 4). Select "pre-washed" on the menu((if your rice cooker has this option). 5). Select white rice. 6). Select "softer"(if your rice cooker has this option). This steams the rice. 7). Press cook. 8). 15-20 mins later you'll hear the song that the rice is done. Use supplied spatula to fluff the rice, serve and enjoy!

If I want to use the timer to cook the rice just as I get home from work, will it be a problem with the rice just sitting in water all day and not cooking? Say I put the water and rice in the pot before work. It's now sitting in the pot all day and not starting to cook until maybe 2-3pm. Will the rice still be good if it sits in water all day?
@barcham Жыл бұрын
Yes, it will be just fine. The fuzzy logic in the unit will automatically adjust the cooking time to take the wait time into consideration and the rice will come out perfectly.

How can you say it would take one hour to cook the rice. Isn’t that going to change according to how many cups of rice you are cooking? I am cooking only one cup. One hour sounds extremely long for one cup of white rice. I would expect it to take only a half hour. I bought the rice cooker NP-HCC10 which is the 5.5 cup size. My other question is when you mentioned that it Hass to measure one cup. Why can I not cook 3/4 of a cup since I am eating by myself? This is not the first time I heard about rinsing your rice to get the starch out. Why is that so important? Is it to make the rice more healthy or is it so that it is not so sticky or is it both reasons? 🤔

Different models have settings for different grains. The model I own, NS-LGC05, has a setting for Steel Cut Oats. Other models have different settings. The thing to do is to purchase the one that matches your needs. Of course, you can cook just about any type of grain in any model, you simply need to try it out to find the setting that works for you. This page may be useful to you: www.zojirushi.com/grains/

Mine got contaminated and zojirushi said it was the gasket which made the rice sour after 8 hours on "keep warm" mode. Seems they do not make them like they used too.
