Difference with the 30 and 32mm diameter is the 32mm is for the 4Motion (4 wheel drive) models

I tend to get a single knock sound around my front right wheel when I am reversing with full lock steering to the right. Sometimes when driving forward up a ramp with full lock steering to the right, I get a similar knock sound as well. Is this a wheel bearing failure? My lower control arms, ball joints, tie rods, end links, ARBs, driveshafts, coilovers, top strut mounts are all relatively new (

Doesn't really sound like a wheel bearing problem. More like a shock/spring problem, I'd check out the coilovers to check everything is seated ok.

The GTI varient has a slightly different carrier and has to be removed. Which is even more frustrating than the hub bolt. Those carrier bolts are hard to get to and tight as well.

Any parts store, halfords, eurocarparts, or anywhere on line. Not hard to find just aren't usually included in standard sets

my Lord, on the mk5 rabbit in north america, the caliper carrier is covering the rotor and its impossible to take the rotor off without taking the caliper carrier off. its so freaking stupid.

Yes it seems higher spec models with vented discs have that problem! I was lucky 😁

Great video though. I am a bit concerned about loosening the hub bolts while on axle stands. I may remove the dust cover, put wheel back on lower it to ground so just beating weight then try and do initial loosen. It looks so tight!

No, the dust shield went rusty and broke so I just took it off. Yes if doing it on the floor that is a good option if you can get the socket through the wheel centre 👍 thanks for watching 😁

VW uses the four square wherever the home mechanic isnt supposed to go because they wil probably not have the tools to properly re assemble. It's a fucking pig anyway but there seems to be some reason to the madness.
