@@rosedudesert4389 - I wouldn’t personally, no. However, that most likely was an error from a note she wrote at the top of the message because you’ll notice she did not place a comma before the word ‘Shia’ (which would indicate the addressee’s name in correspondence). The comma appears _after_ the name, thus it was likely a simple error from a ‘note to self’ she forgot to remove prior to hitting send. If I’m responding to a reply and there’s something I want to make sure I remember, I usually type it quickly as a note before I begin typing the rest of the message. If I accidentally tap in front of it, the note gets pushed and I don’t always catch it. Normally I go back and delete the ‘note,’ but I do miss them from time to time, thus I don’t automatically assume that someone is making an error toward me if the wonky text appears out of place because I know many who do that due to YT not allowing you to go back and scroll without it requiring you to discard your message. 😜 So, most likely it wasn’t truly an error on her part, it was effectively a ‘sticky’ note she wrote for memory that was overlooked. I’m positive she knows how to understand what she read, and the person wrote “I am a Shia Muslim” in plain text. Therefore, it’s most likely a ‘sticky’ she forgot to delete and she tapped down without noticing it was still there. 😉

You are so amazing! Thank you Hashem for such a sweet soul. You are a blessing Sarah Malka!❤
When I was growing up, whenever me or one of my sisters would say "do I have to?" my Dad would always respond "No, you get to do that because..." and let us know why we should feel blessed doing whatever was the task. We get to wash the dishes (because you have food), you get to help your grandparents/neighbors/cousins/friends (because you have people who love you), you get to clean your room (because you have a safe place to sleep and play with your toys)...very much like what you were saying ❤

In these difficult times, I appreciate all the more the calm of your videos. As a Canadian Muslim, I pray for the safe return of every hostage, just as I pray for the suffering Palestinian civilians. Your faith and sustained religious practice are an inspiration to us all, each in our own religion. The folly of men will never change the word of God, the wisdom of our father Abraham - father of our nations - and the fact that we are all brothers on earth. I hope your family is protected, both here and in Israel, knowing from the previous video that your daughters' school had to hire security guards. While this war affects us all and calls so many things into question, it's good to be entertained by watching you cook. Watching you cook North African dishes takes me back to my origins, where life between Jews and Muslims was fraternal for centuries. May God hear our prayers for peace, He who hears all, and soothe our hearts xo

Hi Sarah! Im a Catholic mother, and i recently found your channel. I love your videos, its really inspiring to see the fruits of the spirit shown so brightly! Thank you for demonstrating how to be a Godly, humble and modest woman. We need more of that in this world. Edited to add, you greatly remind me of my OB that delivered my firstborn. She saved both our lives after a 38 hour delivery. I will never forget her star of David twinkling brightly when the rest of the room went dark, it was all i could see and kept me focused on her voice. She was strong, assertive but kind, and I wish she couldve been there for all my births. She was the only doctor that treated me like a human being.

When I was working and studying while raising my daughter, I found out that in order to be stressfree I had to wake up at 5 am. I got to enjoy breakfast with my daughter after I had done my morning routine at the time, and having time to relax with a cup of coffee (my daughter had tea with lots of milk), while talking and helping her with her morning routine, was releasing all the stress in the morning. One hour less sleep (I always did my studying at night after she went to sleep, and worked until 12 pm) was a price I willingly paid 😊

Hello, from an atheist, empty nester, and a narcoleptic! I found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I’m hooked! I rarely comment, but *this* video resonated with me so much. My thoughts in a nutshell… focusing on yourself for a set amount of time during the day, achieving your goals, and charting your progress are all things that I’ve found to have changed my life dramatically too. Eating healthy, keeping my body moving, connecting with people, and for me, learning something new each day is part of my “Why” now. Learning new science, history, languages, and about other cultures (your videos are part of that!) makes each day invigorating for me and helps me get out of bed with much more enthusiasm than I had when younger. I LOVE your attitude switch from “I have to” to “I get to”. Such a simple flip, but very inspiring. It’s easy to fall into the “This is a burden” trap, when if you just look at the news for a minute you can see that most of the world's population would trade your “burden” for theirs in a heartbeat. My oldest daughter has converted religions 6 times, and considered Judaism for a bit (and Amish & Unitarian), but she's always been about dressing modestly for herself and her kids. Your videos help me to understand that better. Thank you for all of your inspiring videos that clearly resonate with women of all religious and non religious backgrounds and those who have sleep issues. Please keep up your motivational, encouraging, and vitalizinzing content for all women!

I agree it is great to 'get to' start our days reading God's word and having alone time with him, which gives us unbelievable peace during storms of life, peace when others are amazed we are coping and joyful, and thanking God with a grateful attitude. It is a blessing to 'get to' take our kids to school, It is great to 'get to' dress modestly and eat healthy. It is great to 'get to' choose to live simply! I have by no means always lived this way, but try harder every day to be my best. I am a Christian, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe the scripture of early to bed and early to rise truly has meaning. I am a morning person. I do however enjoy watching your videos because I am always trying to better myself and become closer to God. As much as I like to sleep in a bit. I do think waking up early impacts our day. I am far more productive in the morning. The earlier I have to work, the better. I am always in awe about how you keep a tidy home, while having different religious practices then I do. But it inspires me to see how I can always do better. I enjoy your videos.

Dear Sara, I love to grow! What struck me about your video is how to reframe my mindset from "I have to" to "I get to". It's much harder to be obedient to the Lord and His commands when I begin anything with resentment built in just from thinking about my responsibilities as things I HAVE to do. At some point in my life, these things will not be something I may be able to do again, and I don't want to regret it. I was at work by 6:00, but I didn’t feel tired. I love to grow! Until recently I had to - and I do mean, had to - get up very early for work every day. Then God blessed me and my husband with an early retirement so that we could move across the country to a beautiful country home and slow our entire life down. Because of this I have taken to sleeping in late and my husband cannot bring himself to wake me up early after having done so for pretty much all of our 28 year marriage. Lately, however, I've been feeling a call to start waking up early so that I can start my day with devotions and prayer rather than just end my day with a prayer that usually ends with zzzz's instead of a more appropriate 'amen.' I have only just discovered your channel but already I love it. We are protestant Christians and pray with all our hearts for Israel.

Wow that was amazing. After my husband passed away and it has not been easy. Last week I decided to make a daily to do list. First thing is to give thanks, then be grateful for what I had not what I lost. Remind myself of my rules. Pray always, for God is good, he is kind and slow to anger. God helps those who help themselves. Thanks for a firming my decision.

Im retired now and get to stay up to all hours reading, researching, and learning all kinds of things. So i get to sleep in. Your videos are always such a blessing! I like the way you said ‘you get to walk your children to the bus stop’ not just for the reason you said about those struggling to have families of their own but you are also blessed to set your schedule where you are able to do so. It made me smile and think of all the little things mothers do that make such an impact on their children. I one time asked my mom why we didn’t take vacations when I was growing up and she told me she saved all her vacation days so she could go on my field trips with me and whatever else was going on at my school and then I remembered how she was always there when other parents weren’t. Just sharing that so you will know that one day your children will think back on the peaceful household you provided and remember your example when they have families of their own.

I love your calm videos. I wake up at 3:30AM for work and generally get 8 hours of sleep, and I have a few things I use that may or may not be helpful for folks: - Have an evening shutdown routine and protect it as best as you can. Mine is pretty simple: journal, set out lunch/clothes for day before, set up the coffee in the automatic coffee maker, cup of calming tea - no alcohol, it's terrible for sleep - prepped breakfast is really ideal for me on the mornings - I do overnight oats. - I have an app called "alarmy" that requires me to take a picture of my bathroom wall to turn it off. It goes off about 7 minutes after my main silent fitbit alarm (so I don't wake up my partner), when I'm usually already down in the bathroom getting ready, but it's a failsafe for me

Hi Sarah, I just found your channel, as my daughter was watching it. I also have realized the value of appreciating what God allows us to do. He blesses us by waking us up. I get to go through difficult days to experience Him carrying me, and I get to go through good days to see His goodness over time. He allows me to worship Him, and to serve Him. May the Lord bless you and your family! Since I'm semi-retired, I don't have to get up early. I do spend a lot of time reading the Bible, but then I don't have much time to do a lot before I go to work. So, I'm asking the Lord (I'm Christian) to help me to resolve to rise earlier!

Hi Sara. What a pleasant surprise that the video started on time!! I made myself another coffee and was prepared to spend the day talking to my frum family. Heidi had a great idea about getting together for a chat. I love connecting with everyone. It shocked me that people left the family because you are (as well as the rest of us) praying for family and Israel. That’s very confusing reasoning for me!! Everyone here is very supportive and that’s what you need. I always loved the book of Esther. She didn’t know what girl power was but she definitely had it!!!!! I woke up at 5 and sometimes earlier for over 30 years when I was working. I was never a morning person and I liked being on afternoons or midnights a whole lot more than day shift!! I retired 7 1/2 years ago and now I’m wide awake at 5 😂. My dad told me that after he retired, he would continue setting his alarm for 5 because he got so much satisfaction from shutting it off!! I’m also a fan of the yogurt bowl. I too get very sluggish eating junk food!!! I loved the jars that you put the carrots and celery in with the little container for a dip in the middle!! I’ve never seen those. Where did you find them? Have a wonderful week and may G.od answer our prayers and protect the Jewish people and all of Israel I love you so so so much!!! Stay safe!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I started doing Torah readings with Daily Bread in October and cannot believe the great blessing it has become to my days. The Word is alive for me in a very intimate way and I have been reading the Bible itself for many years. When I see someone in a bad place, messy, distressed, etc, instead of saying "I could never do that," I will instead ask myself, "What would it take for me to get there?" No one wants to be suffering, and likely a lifetime of struggle and bad luck and poverty is what brought someone to a place that I in my relative privilege would say "I could never be there" to. Thank you as always

I am a Christian wife, mother, and have a home based career. I wanted to be home to raise our two children and be the homemaker. The most important lesson I have learned about becoming the woman described in Proverbs ( and I pray that God will guide me to be a blessing to my family and others in my daily walk) is this: I end my day with 10 minutes of Scriptures. I have some vision problems so I have found that by the end of my day I can listen to God's Word read online . The public reading of Holy Scripture is a blessing no matter where you find it. I sleep so much better knowing that the Holy Sovereign of the universe neither slumbers nor sleeps and has His holy gaze on the apple of His eye. I get up before dawn rested and willing ( although not exactly ready) to face the day I have been given.

I've been here before, but just subscribed today! I (would) love to grow. I'm not a mom, doctor or woman of God and I can't do any of the things you do. I think you're AMAZING!! I get up at 6:30am (6:45am if I hit the snooze button). I would love to wake up at 5:30am in order to work out for my health. I get home at 7:15pm from a sedentary job and it is too late to work out, bathe and have dinner. I'm going to try your tips. Thank you so much for the inspiration and positivity.

What kind of a Doctor are you? Thank you for sharing your life. I am a nurse practitioner, I work full time and have one little kiddo and while we are not Jewish orthodox or any other organized religion we (my husband and I) are active in 12-step recovery community which for us involves regular meetings, service/volunteer comittments etc, spiritual practice to develop/maintain a conscious contact with higher power. I have been enjoying Sonya's Prep as I value home cooked meals for our family. I am so fascinated by your lives. We all share so much in common as working mothers and as humans seeking to enlarge and maintain our spiritual paths and keeping healthy strong bodies as well as raising children and tending our homes.

I love to Grow. Our day begins early as well ( my husband is a Cardiologist)…. Rounds/ clinic - teaching rounds are early. So we have always had early mornings. I love it. My morning routine is to take our 2 dogs out to potty. I feed them ….. I read my Bible and daily devotional , I feed my husband and make his lunch. I leave for the gym usually around 5:54am…6 am ish. I do need to eat better as the lovely bowl you put together looks delish. I do cut up the veggies as you do …. Those containers look great. I do believe in the “ I Get To……” phrase. You are so kind and inspiring I thank you for all your sharing. ❤️

Thank you for your wonderful video. I really needed to hear it today. I don’t recall if you said what time you go to sleep at night. My husband is chronically ill so when he goes to bed early I’m so exhausted from taking care of him I lay in bed and read scriptures, watch TV on my phone, do shopping, answer emails and before long it’s very late, but that seems to be the only time I have to myself. Then I’m exhausted in the mornings. At 71 I feel I’m in a rat race still!

I discovered that I love ballet, even though I never could afford doing it as a child. The feeling of moving my body and feeling myself grow stronger sets my formula for the day. My body is a gift, and it is my duty to take care of it. You keep me inspired to keep doing just that! I love to grow!

Hi Sara. I love to grow. As a therapist, health coach, and life coach, I tell my clients all the time that changing their attitude from 'I have to' to 'I get to' is the way forward to better outcomes in their life. As a Christian and a deacon in my church, I always have conversations with my fellow Christians about how they get to be disciples, how they get to do Bible study, etc. I made that change in my own life many years ago. The benefits are enormous over time. Thank you, as always, for sharing. My day and week are always better for the time I spend watching. ❤

Thank you all for inspiring me to be disciplined to be a disciple. Being retired I have no excuses to not spend the 1st hour of the day with the Lord. Need to put Ha Shem first in all things. 🙏❤️

Thank you for the reminder ❤. Kind regards Elin

I love your channel and all the tips you give us. I am not Jewish but I truly enjoy the insights, explanations and love you show us in regards to living a Jewish life. On a funny note I was watching a Hallmark movie and they were celebrating Hanukkah and I found myself saying that’s not right they are celebrating it all wrong in this movie and doing things that wouldn’t be kosher or lighting the candles correctly, I said all this to myself because of watching your videos and learning how each process is done. Thank you again for your videos and taking the time to teach us so many wonderful things. God bless you and your family.

Changing from "i have to" to i am blessed to". I started this with my medication. I am diabetic (no insulin), but i would fight about taking my meds until i read how 100 years ago, they would have given everything to have this medication. Thank you to G.od that i am blessed. I will definitely work on the scale of not over, burdening myself with chores. My goal is to study the Bible more an increase my prayer life. I’d love to grow. Thank you so much.

So very interesting, Sara! It would be really helpful to know what your evening/nighttime routine is. That is where my days tend to fall apart. I stay up too late and waste time doing unnecessary things online…. How do you unwind in the evenings? When do you go to bed and how long does it take for you to fall asleep? and how many hours do you sleep? I tend to stay up much too late and then it takes me a long time to fall asleep, while my mind is absolutely buzzing with things I’m thinking about, worrying about, or stressing out about. Then, of course, I’m so tired in the mornings and I can’t get going. Also, as a mother, I’m sure you’re also getting the kids up and out of the house in the mornings, supervising homework after school, and getting meals ready, clean up, and so on. It’s a lot to deal with! Your videos always offer such calm reassurance. They are a joy to watch, even if I will never be as productive as you. Fortunately, my kids are grown and my husband and I are retired, so we almost never have to rush off anywhere, anymore.

Thank you for sharing this. My days of rushing kiddos out the door is long gone but I still find that waking up early and beginning with prayer sets my heart and mind on a good path. I have struggled to overcome my sedentary nature and your video has reminded me that this body is the vehicle through which I can live the path G-d has for me in my life. Thank you so. I love what you said about not staying in PJ's. I associate PJ's in the day with being sick and while I work from home, I like to be dressed nicely - casual but nicely.

"I get to" vs. "I have to". THANK YOU - I am an early riser so I can connect with God. I am a Catholic, who grew up in a Jewish neighborhood, and married a Lutheran. So...I just take the best of all and go with it, I'm not really sure what religion I am. I was always jealous of Shabbat in the old neighborhood! I was fortunate growing up, our church exchanged services and teachings with the synagogue a block away. Thank you for sharing your life, we have similarities in so many ways, like all of us. Instead of showing us a curated version of your life that some people do, that make me feel inadequate, I feel as though you just want to help people. May your kindness come back to you. I find your videos inspiring, peaceful and uplifting - we are all in this together. Much peace to you. -Lisa

Thanks for reminding me of my “whys”. It used to be so I get to work in the garden, but this summer has been incredibly hot, that gardening is unbearable.
