My coaches never gave me a fair shot and let me do my thing to my best potential. Never got any playtime. So I have no choice BUT to walk- on. No film, NOTHING. And I was a good kid off the field and I’m only 22, 6’3.

Of course it's possible, there are plenty of people who picked up football late and still made it, what matters is the video you produce and what you do with your opportunities

Thanks for the information! I’m starting my training to try and walk on to my local university. I had chatted with a former DE who just got out of the League, I never played in high school but I spent time in the army as a forward observer. I’m hoping my time in that job can translate over to the football field, as good field vision and strategy were key. Any tips would be welcome 🙏🏼

I know I'm late... but I just turned 20 and COVID -19 ruined alot of things including my chances as a RB In my sophomore year of hs..... I was on dline freshman year ... I did so good my Coach gave me a chance in practice to try RB man I never knew I had so much speed and power And so to go on at the end of the year I was supposed to be a starting RB sophomore year but COVID came and there it was no more football but then came a late short season later on and I never knew about it but when I found out it was to late there was no more jv only varsity so they combined JV and varsity and I didn't really know the varsity coach so I never got a shot as a RB because they already had they eyes on someone so I didn't play football my sophomore like at all I stop going to school got demotivated but I came to my senses junior year I started focusing on school and gave football a chance again tried to prove to my self I was good enough I said my apologies to the head coach anyways after earning a spot back on dline I tried my best to get seen by my Coach and recruiters but had no success because like I said they had their eyes on someone else so I thought it wasn't a big deal because I was only a junior and all the stars on the team were seniors so that meant I had a chance next year as a senior but at the end of football I told my coach "I'll see you next year " and his words was "no you won't " because supposedly I was 18 at the time turning 19 Dec 4 and because NY state says you have to be 19 by July I wasnt eligible to play and so then again I stopped going to school and never went back for my senior year and I have NO BODY TO HELP ME and if this was a sign sent to me WILL YOU PLEASE HELP and give me anything that will help i would really appreciate it I don't have any film but I can film my self I'm getting my GED and was wondering if there's still any chance for me like can I still be a walk on in college?? If so please Let me know ThanK You...ps sorry this is so long lol

What if I’ve literally never played football in my life and am just now getting into it and really regret not playing in high school? And im also 21 about to graduate college? I must be in the small minority who didn’t grow up watching football and just got into it because of some guys at work having me join their fantasy league. It really sucks knowing my only opportunity to play would be going back to school. But im about to graduate with my bs in computer science. I guess i just have to move on with life

It would be incredibly tough. Film is basically how you sell yourself. So unless you can somehow showcase yourself to coaches and your physical ability to them, (recording yourself?).

So, i did not have great offers due to covid. Before Covid I had division 1 and division 2 looking at me and once covid happened those offers went away. So, I decided to turn down one division 2 offer. I decided to go JUCO because i wanted to get more scholarships offer. Now that I am at JUCO Im red shirted, which is fine. My question is since I had a 3.5 our of high school this year of graduating and I have a 4.0 at the JUCO can I try to get into universities in the spring as a Walk On or will they deny me because I am not playing this Fall?
@JaavisFootball__13 жыл бұрын
Well getting a walk on opportunity without film is pretty difficult, but they won’t outright deny you based on anything about grades cause you’re a qualifier (I would assume) out of high school, but they might deny you because of your lack of film, does that make sense?
@jeffreykinney1643 жыл бұрын
@@JaavisFootball__1 yes. it does. I have another question. what if I was offered at the division 2 level and they really liked me, but I turned them down because i wanted to take my chances to see where I would go. I was told I was Division 1 player, but Covid happen and the D1 schools following me were no longer interested in me because there were no scholarship being offered. Also, the WR coach at JUCO was highly interested in me. But when I got to the school that WR coach left. AS of now, I feel like this coach does not know my background and there is no relationship there. Would it be a bad thing to contact the WR coach that was interested in me at D2 level?
@JaavisFootball__13 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreykinney164 that’s tough cause all coaches are different, but the main thing you gotta think is if that coach still has a need for a player like you, there might still be a chance, but he probably won’t forget what’s been done already tho

@JaavisFootball__14 жыл бұрын
Oh that’s a good point that I wish I would’ve included! I’ll say this: it’s not gonna be easy cause of the lack of both football experience and football film, but coaches will always want to take a really good/freak athlete if they can, you just have to put together your own film to show what kind of athlete you are and what you can provide!
