OMG THANK YOU!! I was told from a young age to massage shampoo gently into the scalp and wash it out, if you did it too hard it will cause damage. As my hair has got longer I have been getting loads of white flakes in my hair and no matter what I did, it never get rid of it. Washed my hair yesterday and gave my scalp a good scrub and my dandruff is so much better already!! My hair feel so soft and nice too!

I’m so glad that you wash your client’s hair twice. So many hairdressers just do a quick wash and I have hair that actually needs two washes. Wish there were more like you who would take the time to do that and not be in such a rush or lazy.

About the double shampooing, my mom (she used to be a hairdresser) always says, if it doesn’t make a lot of foam, it’s not clean. And you can see her hair made a lot more on the second time. I always look for that to decide if one is enough
@gabajamrozinska3347

It applies to washing your face, too! First wash to get the makeup off is usually with little to no foam. Second one is a face full of bubbles :)
@Siberius-
@Siberius- 2 жыл бұрын
@@gabajamrozinska3347 - Should use a makeup cleanser like cold cream or some oil, and then you don't have to irritate the face so much with roughly using face cleanser like 3 times in a row to properly remove all the makeup. Ideally you want to follow up the makeup removing by then using the face cleanser (double cleanse method). Some people just wipe off the makeup remover with a paper towel, but that doesn't remove everything, and you don't want left over makeup, and of course makeup wipes suck and don't remove makeup from the pores properly.

THIS is why I LOVE this channel! Because Brittney tells people what they NEED to hear, not just what they WANT to hear. It's true that SO many people don't adequately wash their hair, & then they roughen up the hair shaft when they violently rub their ends (the most damaged & fragile hairs) between their hands. Also, they leave shampoo in their hair. NVMND, I don't need to rant about incorrect rinsing...but my prayers go out to anyone without enough water pressure to rinse thoroughly!!🤣🤣🤣🚿🌊🛁

Morgan some of the bowls are really weird. Also I’ve noticed most of the time it’s because they’re sitting their lower back too far from the chair so it allows a space between the low neck area and the shampoo bowl. The ear thing is so hard to work around. I try so hard and always apologize to clients when water gets in the ears. Uff. The worst. I usually keep an extra towel to get that water or offer them tissue or give them a towel to just dab it themselves. Some bowls it’s just so unavoidable. Boooo.

@꧁༺Joe's-girl༻꧂ * Your daughter is no doubt a beautiful young woman. too bad we all don't live near a body of warm rivers where we can soak our hair in clean flowing water. Beauty Salons generally are for standard care and fashion care. Beauty salons do not have the equipment to deal with women such as your daughter's, who have beautiful long hair.
@juligrlee556
@juligrlee556 3 жыл бұрын
@꧁༺Joe's-girl༻꧂ * my hair gets tangled to the point of not being able to get a comb or brush through it. Using tons of detangling products makes my scalp itch. I think product making companies need to improve products so people with easy tangling hair (mine is very fine and easily breakable) and beautifully naturally long hair can clean their hair and enjoy it's beauty. Beauty salons are equipped to cut hair so it fits products capability. Beauty salons are not capable of handling beautiful natural hair. I'm a licensed cosmetologist. I haven't let a licensed cosmetologist touch my hair in more than 5 years. But I certainly seek products that help me get the most beauty out of my natural hair. Unfortunately most of the products are a waste of money filled with empty promises.

Great video👍💖! It seems like many hair dressers do not know how to wash their clients hair. They either scrape the scalp with their nails, don't ask client if they're scrubbing too rough or not at all leaving all the product on the scalp along with their own gunk. Properly washing the hair and treating the scalp is the begining of a beautiful hair style and a healthy mane. Question, what if the client has scalp conditions like psoriasis of the scalp, seborrheic dermatitis and alopecia? Would the wash be gentler? Especially when they're trying to preserve their fullness and are in pain from their conditions? Thank you for this great video again I hope it goes viral💖👍👍😊
@BrittneyGray

I’m only gentle if the client as a sensitive scalp (“tender headed”) or if they are elderly or a child. But I always ask or else I can read their face and tell if they are uncomfortable and I just ask. If they have a condition and they skin is cracked or irritated, I don’t perform the service at all.

I’m a licensed cosmetologist but when I shampoo my guests I’ve been having trouble rinsing the neck and around the ears. Do you have any tips and tricks that would help with that? When I was in beauty school, we really never had a proper class on how to shampoo and rinse the clients hair.

1st wash to remove dirt and build up. 2nd wash and conditioner to treat hair and scalp. And only once or twice a week. :)

Feel like every hairdresser should have to watch this. From using shampoo properly, to making sure the customer is comfortable, and not forcing them to do the walk of shame with their wet hair hanging around their shoulders. The attention to details matters, it makes customers feel like it was money well spent, and it affects the hair treatment. Leading to better results, and them being far more likely to be a returning customer in future.

I've been a shampoo assistant since 2001 off and on over the years and I shampoo hair similar to this. Every client I have come across no matter the race has said that it was the best shampoo they ever had, whewww that felt sooo good, or some other compliment lol. I honestly haven't got one complaint. I've had people moaning in my chair and that's when I ease up a little bit lol cuz it was very awkward. I do two shampoos as well. First with a cleansing and then a moisturizing shampoo. When I do my condition I give a massage all over the head and neck then I do a slight hair tug on both sides and at the nape. I'm very gentle and they love it. I've had plenty of people fall asleep snoring from my shampoos and wake up blinded by the light when I have to wake them up lol. I had one lady one time after I shampooed her I had to apply a demi color and she legit was knocked out. I didn't want to wake her so I held her head against my chest and applied that bad boy the best I could and put the cap on her and woke her up to sit under the dryer. She was very relaxed and said she needed that. Yessss Brittany get it girl!! That's what I'm talking about!
