Ohmergerd I just had an epiphany…I now understand why I can go a 7-8 days without having to wash my hair after I see my stylist for new color! I’ve been puzzled as to why I can only make it 3-4 days I’ve been washing my hair wrong the entire time. I cannot believe I was blind to this until now…thank you Chris!!!

@@BlowoutProfessor oh yeah can you please make a video on how to know WHEN your hair is clean,ik you said that its when you get a lot of suds but since we apply shampoo on scalp and cant do so on ends and mids Except bring already foamed shampoo from top to mids and ends unless we are allowed to make more foam there and see if foam is forming to know that the mids are clean,how do you know for those places that its clean, but not stripped of oils, because since lot of ppls hair routines, eg.many Asians/indians and now a days even people app over the world etc apply a lot more hair oil as oil therapy to scalp and over all hair than just using hair oil like a serum or protectant as you say pre-shampoo night and only then wash their hair so when and how much amount of CLEAN feeling they should have may differ and build up and types are different too so its hard to know when its truely clean, so ppl sometimes overuse the shampoo till they feel superclean and may be even dry hair and some keep a lil bit of moisture/oil so its not completely stripped of natural oils in there but then sometimes it can actually be extra unnecessary oils instead, and unless a hair stylist tested their clients hair at the end of the wash they wouldn't be able to tell that oh this is overwashed or that is underwashed or this is correctly washed hair with enough but not too much moisture in it.. So is there a universal test for it so that clients know it too. Or can we compare how clean scalp feels after we get enough foam and how clean your mids and ends feel comparatively and if both feel equally clean then the job is done? I have tried this and it somewhat works, though not perfectly but i d still like another better alternative if you have one (it doesn't always work out though if texture of mids and ends is different from hair near scalp). Split QnA : what are those knot and gaps in the middle of the hair shafts which if you cut them at where they end they d become split ends, they seem like they form when hair is about to split but hasnt yet so ends are stuck but its still seperated in the middle. I really like the hair anatomy explanation of hows and whys.and how to prevent them. Dandruff QnA: what to do about dandruff, especially when medicated shampoos/diy recipies dont work, atleast not long term, i have tried tea tree oil shampoo/cream/oil when my aquaintaince told me + i researched that medicated ingredients like ketaconazole, selenium sulfide, zinc pyrithione, salicylic acid and many other medicated shampoo ingredients are sometimes too strong and are prescribed to ppl that dont even need it because dry skin when it gets big flakes due to excessive dryness is mistaken for dandruff caused by infections and that in turn makes the scalps skin drier and tea tree oil products work much better for me + sleeping well at night especially because stress triggers it and while ik that for many pp diy recipies/medical shampoos may work it doesn't for me but if you have other tips as to how to keep your scalp from getting dry other than tea tree oil between the washes pr other tips of managing dandruff then i d love to hear em. Picking correct products QnA : Apart from that for people that live in areas where they dont get easy access to the brands you mention, do let us know how to pick a shampoo/conditioner/hair dryers/tools/hair oils/serums etc and if its not a professional and neither a drugstore shampoo but a really good organic brands shampoo thats in mid range, sulphate and and paraben free, one can only buy online for now eg.st.botanica and so on ,and if its still just as effective or atleast not as bad as drugstore shampoos. Plus if theres a way to find good shampoo in drugstores as well for people that dont shop online/have pro shampoos in their drugstores and so on. Also which DIY hair care recipies are affective, ineffective and damaging to hair and so on could make a good playlist. Please make a video on these topics and if its already there do link it in the replies if possible so i can go take a look since i am still on your healthy hair playlist. Your personal channel recommendations: And a video on if there are any hair care/styling/cutting channels or just any other channels in general you find really good and effective. And thank you so much for these tips i so wish i saw your and other limited effective hair care channel years ago, because i found out about these wayy too late (from 17-24 yrs) by having to scour through most other hair care (in/effective, in/applicable) KZbin channels and finding good tips from places like doro cubillos (hairwashing mistakes/haircare with out diys videos) etc + personal trial and error experiments, its also no help that you need to scour through too many hoards of diy hair care recipies hair care channels (some of which are ok and may be some arent but not everyone can do em as often due to lack of time and it needs consistency) but not enough of how to do your current routine properly to get to those truely informative and effective channels. I just recently experimented with applying oil to my hair instead of serum, i got the idea from diy serums blog which was oil based silicone free n i used to do so in my teenage days once in a while but stopped because i didn't get proper technique, even though youtubers i saw suggested serum but it still dried my hair compared to coconut oil and right after some weeks of doing it and seeing the effects i found your channels video about oil application and even tho i wish i was told about this earlier, validation that its not a wrong step and explanation of how and whys of why things are un/helpful just gave me so much contentment. And there are plenty of new things i got to learn about whys and hows of cleaning the hair thoroughly and the moment i applied the information and techniques i got to see the results that no product ever gave me. I have rarely ever seen such accurate information that also works as explained.

Before seeing this video I was washing my hair at least daily, sometimes 2x a day thinking my scalp produced excess oil. Today I tried this technique for the first time & my hair hasn't felt this clean or weightless in a long time! Even days I'd shampoo & mercilessly scrub my scalp with exfoliating gloves to the point I started feeling bumps/scabs. I can't thank you enough for this & love how honest you are in your videos. There's so much confusion regarding proper hair care due to years of the salon & hair industry making conflicting claims to sell products & services. Next time I plan on being in Florida I'm going to make it a priority to book a shampoo & blowout at your salon!

This video of yours has been a holy grail for me. Of late my straight fine hair had become limp and lifeless. I have an oily scalp with normal hair. My husband has a dry scalp with normal hair, and even he was feeling the same about his hair. I chanced upon this video of yours and tried the shampoo-conditioner technique and voila, it was magical. It brought volume to my hair, i feel my scalp is far cleaner and less oily yet not dry, my hair has more definition now just like many years ago. I have so fallen in love with my hair again. Shared your hair washing tips with my hubby and he has had a similar experience. A big big thank you to you!!!!

I really appreciate your tips, they are very helpful. But I'm wondering what to do if my hair is dirty but it's not oily? I think I have coarse hair because my hair is thick, has volume and it prefers hydration shampoos. But I wash it every 3-4 days (but it can pull up more) because it looks dirty even though the roots don't feel much oily. I live in a dirty city. It makes me wonder. 🤔

Thanks for the great info! How much of hair is considered 'the ends'? I'm asking for conditioning and oil purposes. Is it like the bottom inch or 2 inches?
@BlowoutProfessor
@BlowoutProfessor 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Julie! If you have shoulder length or longer hair then the ends would be the last ~4 inches. If you have short hair above your shoulders then I would only do the bottom 2 inches :) The longer the hair is the bigger the "ends" are proportionally. Short hair is generally all the same length while longer hair has more breakage so the lengths of the individual hairs are more varied 👍

I have medium hair, it used to get very oily, but since switching to redken volume injection shampoo, it stays clean for around 4 days. I use all soft, lightweight conditioner, and if I don't apply it all over, like the first couple of times, my hair up there dries out way too much. So I start applying the conditioner to my ends and work my way up, flipping my head upside down, so only a little bit is left to go on my roots, after I let it sit for a few minutes in a loose hair tie, I make sure I rinse it out thoroughly. I also have to apply a little bit of leave in to my roots as well, just a few little sprays, and it's good for 4 days! I keep my oil to the ends and midlengths of course. Would you suggest another shampoo that will still get my hair clean without drying it out so much?
