Your life is only wasted if you're trying to live up to the ideas others have tried to convince you that have to live up to, else they judge it as a waste. That feeling of guilt is there (and should be) because you continue to collectively allow the things that make you feel that way to happen, simply by saying that's just the way it is, and I can do nothing. When you decide you can do something, and you create the way that it is....Poof...That guilt fades away like a fart in the wind. You don't fix problems by ignoring them, you face them, and when you start solving them happiness comes for along for the ride.

I turn 50 in August . I worked since about 13 years old at fish plants , chicken farms , just about anything I could to get ahead . At 44 yrs I had a fall that left me unable to go back to my 30yr profession as an ironworker. For the first couple of users I was devastated, I lost everything I ever worked for because the banks and the government just wrote me off . Today I'm still after 7 + yrs not even getting disability yet . But the one thing I realized in the last few years is that the only one going to take care of me is Me . They (the governments) have rules for which are to stave us rape us of all dignity we build the office's that these tyrants work in and without us they would not exist. But yet we struggle. I've learned that if I'm hungry I will fish, without rule ,I will plant without rule, I will harvest animals without rule . Cause you know why? There's not a human being out there that can tell me or any other person on this planet that we need money to survive.and unless you have money your not worth anything. This is in my opinion the failure of human kind . Be safe out there my friends. Just one more note if we in the western countries all just said the hell with work for 1 month all of us . Just think of the crash we would set up for out ridiculous governments

I would strike out the word “mistake” and replace it for “experiences.” When I realize all the do called “mistakes” I made with my children, I go into deep depression and spiral down self flagellating for marrying their father and for me even being born. Who is to say this or that was a “mistake”? Obviously “it was” and therefore “it is”. I love Allan Watts, he has been instrumental in me living my life in my own terms.

animal analogy always strikes me. for the last 5-6 years if I watch TV I watch only wild animals, they are like babies, they do not have any self-consciousness reflected on their faces. they just act, do not overthink, and if tired they sleep, if hungry they eat (or hunt). this is happiness. since we have a skill (and a burden) of self reflection we are trapped "in front of a mirror" always looking at ourselves which results in inaction and endless loop of suffering.

Life is merely a single moment, like a heartbeat. Experience is merely many heartbeats strung together. There is no telling of this story. One has to let the heart beat. Some can chop wood and carry water and some try to force open the petals of a flower. In order to know one has to know.
