I did this on my own following these instructions. My refrigerator is a GE brand and looked slightly different but the instructions were dead on. This would've probably taken me all of 20 minutes but I had constant interruptions. Even though, I had it completed in less than an hour. Great tutorial!

I am not mechanical at all and I replaced this in about 20 mins ... would have been sooner, but my unit is in a tight spot and I had to move it in and out several times to disconnect all the lines and reconnect. Excellent video

Excellent video, my model was very similar so it was a breeze to replace the tubing. One question and your video points out you get some additional parts in the kit, but doesn't explain why and how you would use those parts???

If you're talking about the four union connectors, those are for installation if you have the older style tank. In that case, you would just cut the tubing and use the connectors to splice in the new reservoir. Matt explains that at 1:35 in the video. So, as long as you have the newer style refrigerator, like we have in this video, you don't have to worry about using those connectors.

I have a fridge that water doesn't taste good, I have to flush 2-3 cups before drink to remove that dirty taste. Can be the problem of that taste??? The resevoir needs te be changed??? Thanks!

is there any difference in the tubing itself between buying this as a kit from an appliance supply or or buying the same size from a hardware store?

Since it carries drinking water it is probably food grade/potable tubing.

The markings on the water line on the reservoir give you an idea of how much to feed through.

hope this resolves issues of white film in the dispenser. i have the original reservoir & read in some forums it's due to water treatment causing the lining to come off.
