I am so glad I found your video, I replaced the water hose but couldn’t get the new hose to come through the bottom of the freezer door and was panicking. Removing the bottom door hinge made it much easier. Actually think it is impossible without removing the bottom hinge. Thank you so much!!!

It worked exactly like in the video!!! Saved myself a hundred bucks or so by doing it myself. One note... Do not yank on the hose when pulling it through - the door might come off of the block underneath. If it does don't panic -the top hinge will hold it until you can reposition the block. Excellent Tutorial. The part cost was reasonable also.

This is by far the better of videos on this subject. Other videos want us to thread the water tube in from the bottom. That means that we cannot use the standard replacement tubes (since the pour spout is permanently glued to the dispensing end at the top), something they neglect to mention. I had already removed the water tube before finding this video so I didn't use a string to guide the new hose to the hole. instead, I used the natural bend in the hose (due to coiling) to angle the hose toward the hole. It came out the bottom on the first try. Good luck!

My string broke and I guess I put too much tape on cuz the tube got stuck. But thanks to your comment I just threaded the new tube back thru and it seemed to go directly to the hole (twice). Of course this was after much sweating and thinking I'd have to remove the inner panel of the freezer door or water dispenser panel. But your comment made me decide to give it a try and I'm so glad it worked. Thank you!

Do you have the part number for the water line on the right side of the compression fitting that you are unscrewing at 1:05? Where does that line attach to at that other end in the back of the fridge? Thanks!

Hello, I have a 20 year old Kenmore model 57762791, side by side fridge. Recently, the water dispenser began dripping after dispensing a glass of water. I wish I knew about your site before I ordered from Sears Parts Direct where I was told to order part# WP4388152 Refrigerator Dispenser Fitting and Water Tube Assembly. Thank God for your video on how to change the part, which I did this morning. Unfortunately, it did not help a bit. Can you please tell me what could be causing the issue. I followed your instructions exactly and there are no leaks. Thank you in advance for your time and again, your video was perfect. If people would just follow your instructions as stated, there is no reason anyone should have had a problem replacing the tube. BTW, I found that on this model, I could not remove the black plastic cam but it did not hinder the passing / threading of the tube through it. Evan

Hi; Thanks for the great video. But, I have a problem. I taped sting to old tube and started to pull out, every thing went well for a while and then about half way through the tube started to bind I pulled a little harder and tube started to come again but it wasn't taking any string from below. And of course when the tube came free there was no string attached. What do I do now or am I screwed?
@appliancepartspros10 жыл бұрын
Tom Arciero You may just have to play round with it till you get it through. You could also take the door off and lay it on a table to make it easier to see up into the lower hole.

Can this be done with a GE side by side fridge? I can't seem to find this part on the parts diagram . Somehow a particle got lodged inside this line after changing the water filter to a non-oem part. I tried everything from weedwacker line, assorted steel wires and compressed air. I tried it from the top/spout and also from the bottom after removing the coupling. Nothing seems to work. The blockage is just about a few inches from the dispenser.

It is easier to remove the nylon nozzle first, then feed the tube from the bottom without taking off the door hinge and not needing the fish string. Then re-attach the nylon nozzle on the top or just shape the tube end to serve as the nozzle. It is better to dangle the poly tube below the filter to produce less stress when the door swings which tend to crack the poly especially when hardened over time. Most of all, it is possible to use generic poly tubing instead of the specified repair kit.
@aivandivad2 жыл бұрын
Is the nozzle removable with out damaging it is like a fitting that can be released? And if the new line is fed from bottom to top no string is required?

Does GE make a kit? If not I will make one of these work. GE has problems with line freezing or after market filters clogging the line. I think they are foamed in. I run into this repair problem all of the time, GE's solution replace entire door. I have been able to break some off them loose using compressed air, or steamer.I am working a better method other then thawing out the whole refrigerator. I know they make a heater kit to help prevent freezing but getting it unclogged or thawed out is another battle. As soon as Im able to get my hands on a junk door, I will reverse engineer it.

I have not seen a kit form GE yet.

I have a Kenmore refrigerator and did the same as the vidio but, the new water line only goes in about 8" inches and no further. so I take it back out and the end of the is full of insulation, what now?😢 Well, I found out what was wrong, my string that I used was too thick, I switched over to a flat waxed cable tie, worked like a champ 😀
@appliancepartspros7 жыл бұрын
Were you able to maintain tension on the string to keep the tube from veering off course inside the door?

Still missing a few digits of the model number. You can go to our site and look at the breakdown diagrams to see how it goes together. You can also post the problem in the repair forum and the tech can help trouble shoot it. It takes time to find the right appliance and make a video, the ones we put up now have been weeks in the works so I can't promise a video will be available anytime soon. If you look at this part: AP2115415, you will see 2 legs that lock into the dispenser. You may have reach up and release them to pull the front cover off.
