Yea his videos are good. But it's a hobby, if it is boring to you... I don't know what to say. Just used to videos, but videos are not always the best/fastest. Anyways he is pretty concise and it's easier especially when facing it first time, he presents it very well with voice, face, chessboard, figures moving, it's actually very efficient. But say to look smth up there is other.

@2:09 Ke6 is similar to the idea. Ke6, Ke8, Rg8+, Nf8+, Kf6 forcing the king to move away and Rxf8.

By the way, I once had an unusual pawnless endgame in a serious competative game.. I was an entire rook up, but unfortunately I was not able to find a way to win. I think we had two minor pieces each as well, which is indeed a very unusual situation to find yourself in, wich of crouse was the reason I was more or less clueless in the actual over-the-board situaion.

I always thought, naively I must say, that this kind of endgame, or rook vs bishop, is winning for the side with the rook! Turns out it's not the case! Thanks for this! Can you make more videos about using the knight? They're the hardest piece for me to use most effectively...I never know how to get it where I want it to go. That being said, I just managed to break 800 blitz rating in a closed position game with no bishops and a sweet checkmate threat with two knights and a forced queen capture 😊

2:26 I would play the rook that way to threat checkmate so I will keep it on the 1st line but just move it. If black king moves to the corner it's mate and if he moves away we take the knight

The idea is really similar to checkmate a lone king, we need to slowly squeeze the region for the piece (king/knight) to move and finally create an attack it cannot escape

Another technique can be done at 2:09 White goes Ke6, The night has no good squares to go to, so the black has to play Ke8, white follows up with Rg8+ black has to play Nf8 and white responds Rh8 and puts black in zugzwang voila...

I had the advantage, but it almost got to a draw, until my opponent let me pin his knight away from the king. I tried to replicate the last position, at 6:10 instead of b6 goes c8 then plays out the same until 6:26 when instead of f4 goes f8 where then you must go ke7 then ng6# and then it is not possible to stop the knight from reaching the king. from the start white only had a +0.47 advantage so does this rely on your opponent not using perfect play? this is based on max engine

Those pesky Knights! It does matter what the king does because it’s difficult to keep the knight near the side or the corner with the king covering a few squares without the opponents king coming after the rook. I usually play against the computer and I have not yet found a win. Thx

i think he already covered this topic. - does this move put your king in danger? -does this move put your pieces in danger? are any of your pieces being attacked? -does this move checkmate the enemy king? -does this move attack any of the enemy pieces? i think that's the summary of the previous vid. TLDR : check your own pieces first then proceed to evaluating enemy pieces before making a move.
