I'm a big rider at 100 kg. 1300 is the bomb for winging on small swell or low wind. I have the 1310 too but it's not as fun as the 1300. The 1050 is awesome too at 15 plus wind; it handles the chop much better than the 1300 or 1310.

I've been waiting for that 1199!!! Hope its coming soon. I've considered 1300, but think it would feel too slow now that I'm used to the speed of ARTs for winging. Would be nice to have an extra knot or two on the low end compared to the 1099.

Hi DaveSails, yes! Spot on. I usually ride the 1099 or in really good conditions the 899. But under 12 knots I struggle with the 1050 or even the 1300. But, as you fear. It is true. The 1300 is great but significantly slower and that makes it difficult to be really happy with it. The 1300 is good for dock start, SUP foil or as I mainly use it. Riding slower waves! Here in Mallorca the waves in summer aren’t that fast and you can stay on the wave longer with the 1300. And that’s a lot of fun. The ART foils just cuts through with their higher speed and you have to go for the next wave. Not bad at all but they are better when the waves are faster. Where do you ride?

think the ART V1 approach will be outdated very soon, pretty much all Axis Foilers in Germany went back from ART to HPS...We have Seaweed, and ART + Seaweed is a killer for your session.... My preddiction: - 1 bigger user friendly Downwind PNG or HPS model (as you said 1400 etc) - a whole new Surffoil Range ! and I agree with you the current weight of Froths is a no go, the shape works so well, very sad for now

Hi Pw, that’s interesting to hear. We still go strong with our ART foils as no 1. Mind you, we only have seaweed when we have the onshore storms in winter. All summer, every day in summer we have to make do with warm, clear and blue water! You should come here and ride with us on the thermic winds in the summer. I like your predictions, between us might get one or two right! 😊🤙

I'm not really with you on the predictions. Axis were first to market with ART, many of us have gone ART and then gone back to HPS. The reason is that the ART wings in being first to market are not the most friendly or easy to ride of today's available HA wings, other manufacturers have looked at what Axis did and improved upon it. So my view is the whole ART range needs revisiting and updating to improve upon it and bring it to parity or better than the brands that came to market later with ART as the baseline to beat. Being first gets you the early market and is commendable but gives everyone else a target to beat - and other brands have done just that.

That may very well be true, we may have different views of this. I still say the ART foils gives ur really great sessions. I have not tried a better foil, -yet! But I understand that others may have picked up a thing or two down the road. What is your opinion of brands that have done the foils better?

@@wingfoil_mallorca for sure the F-One Eagle is a stand out foil in this area of HA foils. There are certainly others but for me I think F-One have the most well behaved HA foil on the market right now - of the bigger brands.

I love my Art, especially my 899. Very fast and for me also very easy to ride if you have a bit of speed. But I don't have a see weed problem. PNG 1300 and Art both don't loose seaweed itself. Both to straight leading edge for that.

Nice! I have also seen new interesting foils from F4, Armstrong. Haven’t had a chance to try them but I guess it will be many HA foils to choose from this year. Unfortunately everything is getting expensive. Not to mention the wings with Duotone D-Lab taking the lead…oh my!

Hi Armin, yes the 899 is easy to like. Fast and surprisingly stable for its size if you have good conditions. Rides bigger waves in an impressive way. Now we need an ART 199 for low wind days……
