Thanks for the video mate. Just want to be clear before I go cutting connectors. Cut red wire from switch and connect to a pin that works when only high beam is on? Then get rid of the junk that plugs into the high beams all together? I feel like I'm forgetting a step but now sure what?

You are correct. The relay has 4 wires that need connecting. Power in. Power out to the light bar. Earth. and a trigger/ signal wire This trigger can come from either the back of the headlight globe or the steering collum. You can then put a switch in line with the trigger/signal wire so that you can run your highbeams with or without the light bar on. Because the hilux has negatively earthed switching I ditched the head light globe harness and ran my own signal wire as shown in the video

Mate I've been trying to sort this out for ages, I have installed 2x led spotties and 2x hid spotties running off their own relays (in pairs) with a single rocker, will this still work with all those or am I just asking for trouble?, I'm assuming that all I'm doing is drawing a small amount of current to my rocker from my hi\low stalk am I correct?

So i'm in the process of installing DRLs (Daytime running lights) on my '07 Yaris and when the headlights come on they should turn off. The control box needs to receive 12V from the headlight switching wire, but with the negatively switched headlights it doesn't work. Have you got any tips for me?

Can you intercept the earth wire off the headlight? I'm thinking it will become positively charged once the lights are turned on and provide the 12v signal you need. It could work but I'm not 100% sure. You may accidently earth out the control box which will be bad but the only other option is to find a 12V+ wire under the dash as mentioned in the video

@@dingeldiy So i actually removed the steering colomn plastics to find the connector for the light control stalk. Measured all the connections for a 12V source the moment i turn on the parking lights. Found one, ran a cable to the engine bay and managed to get it working! Thanks for replying!

Can you run this of the high beam fuse with a Piggyback?
@dingeldiy2 жыл бұрын
Don't think so as the high beam and headlight share the same fuse?

I had the exact same issue what a headache. Especially when you don’t know what the problem it.

There is an easier way to accomplish this and it's simply by switching the Red wire and the white wire on the female plug of the piggy back adaptor. All you need is a small screwdriver or what I use is a 1.5mm Allen key. Hope this might help you in th future

Hope your right! About to try this out myself.

Update: It worked, but it means that one side is high beams and the other is low beams. Doesn't actually work.

Hey mate I have tried and followed the video but still have no luck at all. I have a 2007 hilux and when checking all the wires from the indicator stalk, the high-beam has constant power until you flick the high beams on? When I followed your video, I turn on the switch and the lightbar turns on, if I turn on my low beams the lightbar turns off and if I keep my low beams on and flick on my high-beams then the lightbar turns on?

Actually now that I think of it maybe I have done it correctly? As you had mentioned you have yours so it works with the lights and without?

If you're 100% sure try repinning the aftermarket light bar harness as described in the Kings video tutorial. I didn't fully understand it but hopefully you can make sense of it and see the comments there for help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZPSpYVjftB4r7M&ab_channel=4WDSupacentre
