How to Wire Yamaha F70 F-Series Tilt-Trim & Tach Gauges - Classic Montauk 17 Restoration

In this video, I focus on how to correctly wire in the tachometer and tilt trim gauges with a Yamaha F70 outboard engine. This should work with any F series engine. I cover on which wires to connect too for the Tach as well as for the tilt/trim. I'm using Teleflex Gauges in this Classic Montauk Restoration but the wiring would be the same for Faria or other non OEM gauges.
I've done several Internet searches and noted that there some but limited information on these two. There seems to be more for the tach but you really have to dig to find anything on the tilt-trim.

gday mate i used a kus tacho yamaha command link gauges are very expensive , i was lucky a guy on the yamaha forum had just done one so helped me set it up as couldnt find any info on it ,my 40hp is new so tilt and trim was in the ten pin plug from the 703 controller .

I learned a lot watching your video on mounting a Yamaha F70. I’m getting ready to do that too. Does the F70 have a lifting bracket built in, or do I need to purchase a lifting eye?
