People laugh... but this is probably the most serious conversation he's had his whole life.

I highly doubt that. You can't have a serious conversation with Ray Comfort because he refuses to abide by reason and logic. Even if Ray Confort is 100% correct in his beliefs, his arguments and reasoning are so flawed. For people who dont realize this, understand that you can still arrive at correct conclusions on faulty reasoning. Like if I said the earth is round because apples are round. While it's true that the earth is round, but my reasoning to justify it is laughable faulty. Saying the earth is round because apples are round is equivalent to how fallacious Ray Comfort sounds in his theological arguments. They're so laughably faulty that it probably does more to damage his ministry than help it. People who think he's good at what he does are either naive or not very well educated in how to conduct a proper format of a logical argument. Most Christian's who already think he's great, like him because they already agree with his conclusion. It's easy to miss all the errors in someone's reasoning when you already agree with the end result. If you already agree with something, chances are your not critiquing it. His followers never stop to consider how his arguments look to other people or if they are being properly justified. If Ray sets himself up to be the standard intelligence of Christians, no one will nor should take him seriously and that does his ministry no good. From a more informed & educated stand point Ray Comfort is the guy saying the earth is round because apples are round and he nor his followers see what the errors in his reasoning are, but many people do.

@@FrogknightAk47 so after all that mumbo jumbo what is your point. You fail to realize the point is the gospel, not to force people to an argument. As we speak people are dying and end up in either heaven or hell. Heaven on the account of Christ and his atonement on the Cross and hell based off of there on merit. I see ray comfort speaking with a sense of urgency because people need the gospel not an hour long argument over a round apple. If you knew anything about this man you would also know how God is using him to spread the Gospel this way. Ray was terrified of death before he came to faith, the video about him is on his page. I dont know what you believe but you dont need to shove theology down someones throat every 5 seconds. The Gospel is very simple, if you want to argue go be a theologian. Its been 2000 years plus that and before Christ and still cant understand scripture completly and you have the nerve to talk about theology? Ok mr know it all....

@@FrogknightAk47 and btw God surpasses logic. So seems to me your an atheist. The bible says thr begining of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. So your "logic" wont do you any good. Humble yourself before God and he will open up to you, and reveal himself to you. Repent and put your trust in Christ and God will supernaturally change you from within, nothing logical about that..... Another miracle as well

@@ANewCreation1525 You completely missed the point. The earth is round because apples are round. How useful was that statement? Not very useful dispite that the earth being round is still true? Just because the conclusion is true that the earth is indeed round that doesnt mean the reasoning to get there isn't flawed. This can be true for the shape of the earth, God, and anything. God may very well surpass all logic, I think that's possible, but that doesnt mean every argument for God is therefore reasonable. If God can surpass all logic and we can't know what that means then anyone can use any arguement for God and argue that its justified since you can use logic to argue against it. God exists because it rains. What! That doesn't make any sense?! But God is beyond all logic so it doesnt need to make sense, anything not logical to us can then be argued, no? My point is that even if God 100% real and beyond logic, there are still faulty arguments used to argue for his existence. Ray Confort does this alot. Ray Comfort is basically saying God is real because it rains. I'm just greatly simplifying the comparison. I'm not arguing against God, I'm arguing against Ray Comfort and his faulty line of reasoning. "Urgency" for anything is not an excuse for using faulty reasoning. You dont need an hour long discussion, you just need to not lie. In no way does this imply that I think I'm a know it all. It doesnt take much brains to understand when someone is using flawed reasoning. And how do you know God surpasses logic? Do you know everything about the nature of God? Or is all this surpassing logic just an assumption you've made? You can't know if God surpasses logic until you know everything about God and that cannot be known. So all you can really say on the matter is that you dont know. With statements like that your using the same kind of dishonesty that Ray Comfort uses. Is that what the Gosple has come to, just saying whatever to appeal to people who won't think twice about what's being said? If you truly can't know something than be honest and say 'I dont know', dont assert made up answers and lie about knowing something you cant know. Please learn to read a comment and address only what is actually being said and not add on extra stuff which was never said nor implied.

@@thesaintmustwalkalone708 Lets see, Ray Comfort pulls off Straw men, false equivocations, false analogies, moving the goal post, sharp shooter fallacies. Do I really need to point all these out every time he uses them? I shouldn't need to, it's quite obvious where they are even if you haven't taken argument structure and logic 101. Plus Ray is plainly asserting a bunch of claims without providing reason or proof. He keeps saying ""the Bible says, the Bible says"" that all great, but he offers no justification to why anyone he's talking to should take the Bible seriously to begin with other than ""the Bible says"". Okay, "the Bible says"" so what?, ""the Qu'ran says..."" It makes just as much sense and has just as much justification as ""the Bible says..."" when your offering no valid reason to take what it says seriously. Of course Ray vouches for the Bible because he believes it, but he doesn't tell anyone why they should believe it. It's no different than a Muslim saying Quranic verses and saying you must believe, but doesn't say why. If something can work for everything than it can work for nothing. The arguments Ray uses can work to justify any religion. So the Bible has certain criteria you must abide by or you go to hell. Sure, but why take what it's telling people seriously. I haven't heard Ray ever give a single justification. All he does is spout the claims, but doesn't prove it. And every Muslim evangelist has also done that. He's not telling anyone why they should believe the Bible, he's just telling them they ought to believe it and offers no credit to it. Its no different than if someone of another faith that you didn't believe in came up to you and started telling all the claims of their beliefs, but gave you nothing to show you why you should believe it. Its as if they'd expect you to believe it out of gullibility and that's what Ray is doing here. Pretend you don't believe in Christianity and watch everything that Ray says and ask yourself where has he actually given any proof for anything he says? No where.

Too all my Jewish Brethren, we have been lied and decieved by Rabbis who are hungry for power and reject the truth for the power of a lie. Wake up! the Messiah did come 2000 years ago. Please do not misinterpret the holy passages of Isaiah and read the chapters that preceded Isaiah 53. In all of the other chapter Isaiah explicitly states that the servant is referring to the children of Jacob Bnei Yisrael. Another proof that it isnt talking about Jesus, look at Isaiah 53:10, it speaks about how that same servant would have to bring a guilt offering and will have offspring and live a long life. First of all, why would he need to bring a guilt offering!?! And what offspring did he have? 0 and at what age did he die? In his 30's. You are being taught a blatant lie over and over again. Please stop misconstruing the words of my holy ancestors and do yourself the due diligence to really understand the truth.

Suicidal Thoughts are a spiritual attack. Read your Bible as much as possible and put it into practice. tell Satan he's a liar cuz he is. Look at James 4 where it says,' humble yourself' it's okay to grieve and then God will lift you up. Psalms say if you praise the Lord, He inhabits the Praises of His people, He will lift you up with joy. I know this for a fact every time that I spend time with the Lord he will give us what we need. in our weakness he is strong. Seek a Church Fellowship or fellowship with a good pastor that knows the Bible & is real, and cares for people. God bless you we're praying for you!! My sister in Christ, LISTEN MY FRIEND, you have the most amazing gift in Jesus Christ and the most powerful name in ALL the heaven and the earth. The devil also tempted Jesus to throw Himself off of the pinnacle of the temple, to kill Himself, what's happening with you my friend is an old tactic used by the devil out of desperation. God is drawing you to Him, Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart. Open your heart fully to Christ your Saviour, let Him in, tell Him ALWAYS you want Him to guide you and fill your life with His peace and Love, and He will take over in your life and you will be born again through the Spirit of this amazing God and all this evil trying to destroy you right now will vanish instantly. @Lc S22, I follow God ALONE. As God says '22 Turn to Me *and be saved,* all the ends of the earth, for I am God, *and there is no other.'* (Isaiah chapter 45) I would also point out this verse from the same chapter... 20 Assemble and come, approach together, you survivors of the nations; *those who carry their graven wooden image (sound familiar?) and pray to a god who does not save,* do not know. What would you wish to discuss? I too am open for debate. :-) 'Are you justified by the law?' My response, so says God. Deut 6 verse 25... '25 And it will be for our righteousness that we keep to observe all these commandments before the Lord, our God, as He has commanded us." Ezekiel chapter 14... '14 Now should these three men be in its midst-[namely] Noah, Daniel, and Job-*they would save themselves with their righteousness, says the Lord God.'* Ezekiel chapter 18... 9 Has walked in My statutes, and has kept My ordinances to deal truly- *he is a righteous man; he shall surely live, says the Lord God.'* 21 And if the wicked man repent of all his sins that he has committed and keeps all My laws and executes justice and righteousness, *he shall surely live, he shall not die.* 22 All his transgressions that he has committed shall not be remembered regarding him: *through his righteousness that he has done he shall live.'* 'The law, cannot save you, ' My response, so you deny the truth of the above verses? I can cite more verses which teach the same thing if that would help. 'I’d love to show you verses from the Old Testament which prove Jesus is your God' My response, if you can show me such a verse I would love to see it. I am pretty well studied in Scripture and there have been billions of Jews through the years completely well studied in Scripture and none of us have ever found any verse which shows jesus is God. On the other hand we have found many verses which teach the exact opposite. But perhaps you may be the first to be able to show us to all be wrong. :-) Let me God wiling conclude this post by repeating the above... I would like to show you this verse. It comes from Isaiah chapter 45. Tell me if this sounds familiar to you... '20 Assemble and come, approach together, you survivors of the nations; *those who carry their graven wooden image* and pray to a god who does not save, do not know.'

@Lc S22, I didn't think you were a Catholic. I didn't think you pray to Mary. (btw... Catholics don't pray to Mary) I didn't say you pray to a cross. What I did imply is that you *carry* a cross. (something all Christians claim to do) I am not sure if you read my entire post because I wrote alot more (in the edited version) in my post than just the verse that speaks of Christians carrying a cross and praying to a god that does not save.
@bigshmooz610
@bigshmooz610 4 жыл бұрын
@Lc S22, 'Your probably talking about when we say that we pick up our crosses and deny ourselves.' My response, correct. & I am saying this is precisely what verse 20 in Isaiah chapter 45 is referring to. According to God this would mean that Christians pray to a god that does not save. 'Jesus once repeated Deuteronomy 6:4, and at the same time, he said he was I AM. So clearly, Jesus must be God.' My response I must admit I am baffled by such reasoning. So according to you anybody who says the Shema and says I am is God? So if I were to do this I would then also be God? 'He is God come in the flesh.' My response, yet God says thrice in Scripture that He is not flesh. So who's telling the truth? God or you? 'Do you have relationship with God?' My response, I do. But I am not perfect and so at times I may stumble. But I always strive to be right with God despite my shortcomings. As you said, God cares about our hearts. My heart is for God. 'God is a spirit,' My response, here I would disagree. God is not anything describable. God is beyond all human description. Every description given in Scripture of God is merely 'to break the ear'. Meaning, to teach us a certain type of way to relate with God. But what God actually is, is beyond the current capability of man to understand. You seem to have avoided addressing the rest of my other post so I will God willing post it again for you. 'Are you justified by the law?' My response, so says God. Deut 6 verse 25... '25 *And it will be for our righteousness that we keep to observe all these commandments* before the Lord, our God, as He has commanded us." Ezekiel chapter 14... '14 Now should these three men be in its midst- [namely] Noah, Daniel, and Job -they *would save themselves with their righteousness, says the Lord God. '* Ezekiel chapter 18... 9 Has walked in My statutes, and has kept My ordinances to deal truly- *he is a righteous man; he shall surely live, says the Lord God.'* 21 And if the wicked man repent of all his sins that he has committed and keeps all My laws *and executes justice and righteousness, he shall surely live, he shall not die.'* 22 All his transgressions that he has committed shall not be remembered regarding him: *through his righteousness that he has done he shall live.'* 'The law, cannot save you, ' My response, so you deny the truth of the above verses? Flip Wright Our fathers and mothers and sisters are all sinners. The point of that statement is to see that we are all imperfect and fallen creatures that have hearts made of stone that love sin. If you are to truly follow God then you must love him more than anything else in this world. I myself love God more than anything on this earth, including its people and I recognize that sin rules over many, even my own family yet I love them regardless. 1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." 1 Corinthians 13:13: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." We may love others (including our family) but loving them more than the one who made you, died for you, and promises to give you everlasting life (The God of All People) then you cannot truly follow him.

This was one of the most respectful participants in your videos I’ve seen. Down to earth guy. I think a major issue as far as modern Jewish acceptance of Jesus as the messiah is a combination of relatively low Jewish populations and a strong racial identity among them. I guess the idea is if you’re still Jewish in current year it’s for good reason and there’s no need to worry about Christianity. Well, I believe Christianity is pretty Jew-ish, I think there’s plenty of compatibility and would argue that you could maintain a large portion of Judaism as a religious/cultural experience in Christianity. There’s no reason anyone should think you can’t be a Jewish Christian. Maybe a better term is Hebrew or Semitic Christian but regardless, we all know what I mean. I think a big failure of Christianity is the co-opting of “paganism” into Christianity, that is holidays and ideologies, but maybe that’s the work of Roman Catholicism. There might be a schism if a third temple was established and ritual sacrifice was put back into practice, but currently, there’s not really anything saying you can’t be ethnically Jewish, or view yourself as a person with Jewish identity, observe Passover and the Hebrew calendar, speak Hebrew or Yiddish, keep kosher, or really most other Jewish things and also believe Jesus was the messiah. It’s a complex topic but I don’t believe the two are incompatible totally. I believe there’s a lot that Jews can learn from Christians and vice versa.
@mattallred
@mattallred 4 жыл бұрын
I think that if you are a fundamentalist Christian it might be wise to at least be aware of Jewish elements like the calendar, year, and important holidays and why they are when they are. The Gregorian BC/AD system is prevalent but i think if you want to be like Christ, a rabbi, it wouldn’t hurt to at least know a bit about the culture. I know plenty of Jewish people in America who observe Hanukkah and Christmas, but not a lot of Christians who observe Passover and Easter. Sure, the idea is Jesus was the sacrifice, but we celebrate thanksgiving in America even when most Americans today had nothing to do with the pilgrims, it’s remembrance and tradition. Perhaps you’d find it might add to your experience, not detract. How many Christians observe Saint Patrick’s day, not Jesus but someone after him, but don’t acknowledge those that came before him? I think a more BC Jewish Christianity is more valid than a more AD European focused Christianity. But that’s my opinion.

I learn so much from this amazing man. He cuts to the truth in such an eloquent and loving manor that one simply cannot ignor that Jesus is alive through him. When we humble ourselves before God he is pleased. Psalms 51:17 “My sacrifice O’God, is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise” I’m reminded daily that I must decrease and Christ increases, with these strong convictions.

I had no idea Ray was Jewish; awesome! I’ve learned so much about what Jews think of Christians. They often think Jesus is Italian or Catholic. They often think all Christians deep down at least dislike them or even hate them. They have no idea that the New Testament is written by Jews. I’ve also learned that most Jews have not read Isaiah 53. And no wonder the rabbis don’t read it from the tanakh in synagogue ! It’s clearly talking about Jesus! I love the Jewish people and I hope to see all of them come to know that Jesus is their Messiah. How heartbreaking to be depending on God’s covenants for years only to think He gave up on you at the end. It’s like waiting for your bride or groom on your wedding day and you think they never showed up, but you were the one at the wrong venue!
