A couple questions! How much did the fabric shrink in the pre-wash? And how much stretch is in interlock fabric?

Yes, definitely!! My first pair of wool longies was made with a wool sweater ☺️ You can use the sleeves for legs 👍

Are these specifically for over cloth diaper ? And are these a historical item? I dont think ive heard of these before!

Yes, these wool diaper covers form the waterproof layer of a cloth diaper. As to whether they are historical, yes and no. Yes, wool diaper covers were used historically as a waterproof outer layer, but they would have been knitted or crotched from wool roving (I have also made one of those types 🙂). These are a quicker version made by sewing wool interlock fabric which is only available in the modern era. 😊
