If the pool has a deep end, you can tread water or “run” in place, do jumping jacks, stair climbing while keeping upright and keeping your head above the water.

I guarantee you that no hotel front desk agent is going to know the length of their pear shaped pool

That's the first thing I thought. And forget about asking about water temperature. They'll either just zone out or lie right to you. And the lap pool she was originally in? Don't do backstroke - no flags.

I’ve been looking for a video like this. I travel a lot for work and gave up swimming because I never couldn’t think of any of these to do in a hotel pool. I wish I know these about 6 months ago

Not specific to vacation, but I’ve had good luck finding nearby USMS swim sessions when traveling the lower 48 or Canada.

Can you tell me which hotel you are at in the video with the lovely big lap pool? Is it in Thailand?

Ive tried swimming in a hotel pool and sometimes people move into your way and they know your swimming there and its really annoying

They'll even do that if the place has a dedicated lap lane. You complain to the lifeguards abd they just look at you like you've lost your mind. I was a member of a YMCA in Texas for 7 years at which they had the one lap lane in the MIDDLE of the pool. When I complained about people constantly swimming back and forth in and out of the lane and me running into them, they said they couldn't have the lap lane against the side of the pool, b/c it would block the ladders! LOL So I just kept hitting the people going through (and not to brag but I'm a good swimmer and hit HARD) and they moved the lane to the side of the pool when those getting hit passing through complained. LMAO
