Thanks Bjorn. I was actually thinking about how to do this the other day, but didn’t take the time to look it up. So I enjoyed having you show us. You always make things very easy and understandable. Plus, it was a nice way to finish the last few sips of my morning coffee. Cheers!

In the past I've used a 60mm length of 22mm diameter copper water pipe, cut along its length and spread out to fit my axe handle and then wrap it in paracord like you did.

It also helps to coat the wrapping with varnish or urethane to help preserve it and keep it in place.

This made me giggle because I had visions of you wrapping your ax for Christmas -- like I did for my husband 40 yrs ago. It looked like a wrapped ax in Christmas wrapping and while funny to see under the tree... gave him a strange feeling, too! He needed an ax... what was I to do? haha

@BjornOutdoors some people are just people. We all have a voice. I've handled all kinds of hand tools all my life. I understand tools... handles metals... it can be an art... for those that miss get a plastic handle. In my younger days, I would wrap sticks with twine. It definitely strengthens it.
