I can see you are used to mostly explain live in front of people, that's why you repeat the instructions even if it's not necessary in a youtube video where people can rewind. and id like to say that you are made to be a teacher, great video!

Also, you should do a video on how to recover/ways to heal little tweaks in the hands and wrists. My index knuckle is messed up. Not broken I think, but hurts anytime I connect with the bag or pads. I’m going to try wrapping my hands like this next time I’m in the gym. If that doesn’t help I’ll just stick to no impact stuff like shadow boxing and conditioning for a couple weeks.

I just had a fight in Seattle and I lost. I threw more punches, landed more punches, I got off faster than my opponent, and less damage. Dude was bleeding all over me. Granted I lost 41 pounds in a month in a half. I was 195 he was 230. I box collegiately. The Neveda coach told my coach that i was a good boxer but what I lack is “Showmanship” and “Controlling the center of the ring”. I don’t know if you experienced this before but I feel like it would benefit fighters who are competing.

@JackassHill6 жыл бұрын
I'm gunna try this. I always start the same way you did, but I work my way around the wrist back to the forearm first. It's four revolutions back, and then two up. Then I go diagonally between the thumb/pointer finger, and back around the wrist three times. Then three revolutions around the knuckles and back to the underside of the thumb to start going between the knuckles. After every knuckle, I run another revolution around the wrist. I use long wraps, so this gives me just enough to come back and wrap around the knuckles wraps a couple times, and I fasten it on top or underneath the knuckles depending on how tight it is. Main reason I do it this way, is because I have big hands/knuckles and thin wrists. This gives me great wrist support, and I've never had any problems with it. Now that I think about it, the thumb support is probably nowhere near as good as yours is.

What I did to learn the footwork with a jab was practicing taking a step forward then back in the fighting stance. Then start out of range from the bag and step in as you jab. Jab connects as the front foot hits the ground. After I drill that I only throw jabs on the bag and circle around it in both my left and right. Hope it helps

balancing on your hands is only a first step. You need to progress to balancing on wobbly surface - like one of those half-balls you see people do squats on. When you stand on the fist on a flat solid surface, you're conditioning the hand for the squeeze, but the muscles that hold the fist position are getting a free ride.

You ever see Robert Garcia's and Mikey Garcia's hand wrap method? Similar but he does the knuckle wrap first, using the wrap primarily for the top of the knuckles. It's been helping a lot since I have a banged up right hand. Also he uses a sponge(sometimes) and wraps over that.. Thanks for all the advice tho. It's really taking me to another level.
