@@Lil_vara Stretching? A lot of very painful injuries are because your muscles and tendons are not prepared for the movement they make. It's not a big problem when you are young, but with time a proper warm up is really crucial to safe and (relatively) painless workout :) Trust me, i'm over 40 and had a few strained muscles in my life;) One of the worst was in my neck :D You then begin to realise how much you turn your head around all day, hehehehe.

@@Lil_vara also, don’t do static stretching before a workout. Because during workouts muscles are contracting. But if you do a static stretch before a workout you are stretching and breaking muscles. So when you start working out your muscles won’t be ready to go from static to dynamic movements and thus lead to strains.

The most noticeable thing was the padded knuckles and open palm which just feels great and secure. Thank you for posting this video! Would be great if you could do a wrap video POV style. I’m just getting into boxing and it’s been kind of hard learning how to hold the wraps, what fingers to use to hold the loop, how you wrapped around the knuckles, etc… for whatever reason the wraps are just very awkward for some of us. Just use your intuition
@functiondisruption Жыл бұрын
The use of intuition is a flawed solution. People who are very new to this have not yet developed the intuition used to tell what is right or wrong effectively, leading to overlooked mistakes and bad habits formed. We need to be taught the correct and effective method so we know what a good wrap looks and feels like. Proceeding with something new on your own is how bad habits are made, preventable injuries that do not teach us are inflicted, and time is spent unnecessarily trying to form an experience base, when you could have used that time developing skills that take a lot of practice instead of skills that can be taught.

Tony, this is literally what the Dr. ordered! I am ancient (60 in 1 month) and I use vibrating tools at work. My hands are always a bit swollen and they wake me up with numbness in the night. My wrists, particularly the right, being right-handed, is a weak point. I have incredible hand strength but no grip! I have a hard time wrapping anymore having lost a lot of fine motor skill and stopped, using gloves only. I always thought I was losing some protection, but fighting with the wraps when training time is limited. By the time I get situated I either have to cut some other important part of my routine or speed through everything. Your method can be used even with my fumbling fingers! Thanks again for the great inspiration.

Mr. Jeffries. I've been wrapping my hands wrong this whole time. I put your video on .50x and.75x speed, replayed couple parts and after I finished the tutorial I was astonished of how it looks and feels. super pro. I only wrapped my right hand following the tutorial but I can feel the power. My hand feels more free and less constricted, feels more protected on my wrist. I can feel the hardness of the knuckles through the wraps more too. I can feel my fist is a tighter fist and absolutely more fitting to the form of my fist. It also feels like my fist is a bit lighter. It really does feel like I can punch through a brick wall. Thank you Tony Jeffries.

It's a good wrap when you understand what he's doing, but like with thumb, it gets very confusing. Had to spend like ten minutes on the thumb cause of how the angle was.

This is the best hand wrap that i watched especially in creating a padding to protect knuckles...

I love how you make a pad out of yhe wrap itself instead of using aftermarket pad inserts. This just saved me money. I also use open palm style wrapping, but I hadn't thought about making a pad out of the wraps themselves. Genius.

I’ve been looking for a way to wrap my hands that protects my knuckles without having to use the sliced sponge trick; this is dope! Thank you!

I’m super novice to boxing and the skill of hand wrapping. Because I’ve wrapped my hands before, I have to say this is most likely the way I’ll go. Seeing that technique, I’m sold! Thanks

I just a wanna say thank you loads man. Seriously years ago I tried to wrap my hands alone and couldn’t do it. And today at 5 in the morning is the first time I’ve ever done it and it feels great.

I'm so grateful for every single video of yours. I always wondered how to wrap my hand without losing the ability to close it naturally. You're the best!

used to get a lot of knuckle soreness and pain in my left hand after 10-15 min of good work on the bag when I used to wrap my hand with other traditional ways. Pain as in I can push my glove into the wall slightly and that would hurt my knuckles. Tried this way of wrapping for the first time today, went literally for over an hour hitting as hard as I wanted to, and still felt good even after my workout. This is the best way of wrapping, for me at least. Literally made me so happy, could finally get a good heavybag session in without any pain or soreness coming up quickly.

I'm new to boxing so I've been watching a lot of hand wrap videos. So although I have no clue wtf I'm talking about, I do say this has been the easiest video to watch and follow along with as well as the best explanations as to why things are done. Thanks m8 for this channel its a blessing!

Damn Tony. I have been (kick)boxing for a year. I tried some many ways of wrapping my hands but it never felt right. This way of wrapping instantly felt right. Thx! You deserves a sub.
