@@alexischow8374 I think the implication is that she did pass away. Because that's why he acts the way he does. He could move on with any of the women in his entourage, but instead he completely disregards them. And he has put on a ton of weight, so he is eating or more likely drinking his problems away too... Its subtle. I think the beauty of One Piece is the interpretation you can do with the story. What matters is not what is true, *but why we believe it.*

My first time seeing Señor Pink in the manga, I was like, why does this guy look so stupid. Then I got to the part where it shows his backstory, and all I could think of was how hard boiled he was

Thing is… I mirror senior pink in a corny sense. I dressed in a maid outfit for my ex because she asked me for Halloween(even if we went to a haunted trail and waited in the cold for and hour, while everyone looked) I didn’t care, I just enjoyed our day and she also did. Found out she has a brain tumor later, then me getting deployed put more weight on us. She even cried to her bff(told me in secret) because I was being deployed. It broke us, and then our relationship. She’s the only girl I loved after I came home from over seas, and still too this day I think of the care she showed me while mentally abused and grandma passing. Life’s a mystery, love the things that come along the way that loves you for you.❤️

It is genuinely difficult to say any character in One Piece has a better backstory than Senior Pink and or Bartholomew Kuma. Maybe Black Beard is gonna have one that really challenges that, but I don't know man. He's not as manly as these two dudes!

ippo from hajimino ippo its a boxing manga / anime thats still ongoing its basically rocky but we see him at the end of his high school years being attacked and constantly targeted by bullies one day a heavy weight boxer sees this and helps the kid out taking him to the gym to get medical treatment and the boxer tells him he needs to defend himself and shows him how to throw a punch ippo then wants to become stronger and gos on to train himself every step of the way this manga and show really focuses on the reality and steps you need to take when it comes to self improvement and hard work taking it slow as you end up earning your ranks

Yeah I empathize with his past, but none of his story will make me forget how he just tore off one of the ladies' bikini tops to use it as a napkin, and how that attitude continued as a "running gag" throughout the arc. Even if it were a guy I liked, and even if he asked first, he'd get a fist to the face for even thinking of that. That's not hard-boiled, that's just being a jerk. Use a real napkin/towel.

Even with the worst pacing of all mankind during this arc they made me care for this character but damn that fight between Franky and him was soo dragged out
