So recommendations: Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series, Static Shock, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman Beyond. These are all grouped together because they’re called the DC Animated Universe. They’re all good and will introduce you to a bunch of characters and stories. The New 52 Animated Movies, in my opinion they’re good. You’ll start with Justice League War and end with Justice League Dark Apokolips War. There’s a bunch of them and they adapt comics from the New 52. Since you talked about Suicide Squad and Young Justice two comic recommendations are Teen Titans 2003-2011 by Geoff Johns and Suicide Squad 2016-2019 by Rob Williams.

Another example of a good written female character is Kagura from Gintama, aside from her random one liners and her Chinese accent Kagura actually has a story which is quite simple to follow. So basically her Clan(perhaps on the brink of extinction) was famous for being the strongest which is why they always do mercenary work throughout the universe but Kagura chose not to because she's different from the rest of her clan, because of this it allows her to bond with people like Gintoki, Otae, Shinpachi, Sadaharu, the princess of Edo who are basically weaker than her but they brought new concepts into her life like friendship, how it feels to have an older sister, having a pet (capable of enduring her strength) ,etc. Another thing to note about is that she's still emotionally vulnerable like how she refused to let her father kill her older brother and because of this vulnerability her father changed his morals. Kagura is possibly the only Shonen girl who does not suck and is the best written female character and yet for some reason the author of Black C%$#&^, JJK, Demon Slayer does not take any notes from her.

My top 2 Superman Dick Grayson (both when he was Robin and as Nightwing) The rest of the DC universe is amazing and i can't choose from there, they all cook and batman is a close third but all amazing characters and definitely a great franchise. Always been better than Marvel for me

May I suggest Stjepan Šejić's Harleen (2020)? I know it isn't a film/show/game, but if you are one to find Harely Quinn annoying this may give you an alternate perspective on her character via graphic novel. Worth the read!

as a casual fan my fav dc pieces of media are of course the big 3- Batman The Animated Series, superman AS, & the justice league AS. those 3 are just perfect all around. some other favs are the young justice show, flashpoint paradox is a great movie, and anything james gunn so far is also extremely good! cant forget matt reeves batman movie or the nolan trilogy, man of steel & justice league are okay i guess but just dont capture the characters how they actually are. i can already feel the superman movie and supergirl movies are going to be amazing, so fucking cool they brought jason mamoa back as lobo, i hope they bring back cavil & affleck as other characters too, affleck deathstroke would be something to consider...? but yea obviously i love dc and have all the faith in the world that james gunn will be what dc studios needed to finally step up to marvel, i hope they do a long expanded universe simmilar to marvels!!

Honest criticism I believe this video is framed incorrectly, like the story I feel like you are trying to portray is a new dude getting into DC but the way you're presenting a lot of the segments would need a lot more experience with these stories and characters than you have and so as a result the segments themselves don't work and even if they did the way you're trying to present them clashes with the narrative.

Brother, you barely got to the surface if these are the only DC stuff you've consumed, in fact you are still on the mountain. You have a lot of gems to watch and I'm somewhat jealous that you get to experience all these amazing DC content for the first time. First of all you have a bunch of animated content to enjoy, the DCAU, the DCAMU, the OG Teen Titans, my adventures with superman, a lot of standalone animated movies, etc. Then you get to the TV side, you have smallville, doom patrol, watchman, the arrowverse (I know you said you aren't interested but the arrowverse is a huge part of DC and there are a lot of great stuff there especially in the early seasons of the arrowverse, i.e. the best live action flash and one of the best live action superman.)

If you like dc animated shows, i would recommend teen titans (2003), justice league (2001) and justice league unlimited. Teen titans is a good introduction to dc for people who arent ready to commit to a bunch of lore, but still want to get a taste for the characters. It’s unique in a way where it’s not an origin story, but you don’t need prior knowledge of the world to enjoy it. It is a kids show tho so keep that in mind going in if you watch it. There’s a lot of slapstick and comedic episodes but theres also a lot of deep and interpersonal episodes. If your more into lore based stuff and something a bit more mature, Justice league and unlimited is good too. Justice league introduces the core 7 characters and unlimited introduces the grander dc world and other heroes. It’s probably one of the closest interpretations of the character’s you’ll see on tv aside from the dcau imo. Diana is a bit more softspoken then she is in other adaptations and future bruce does some VERY questionable things once you dig a bit deeper but for new comers these are the shows i usually recommend
