That's why I love DC's Raven, she's a stoic woman and heroine. If she were an erratic maniac with super powers she wouldn't be so impressive, yet multiple authors abuse and forget this trait.

My 3 favourite stoic character is Guts, Thorfin, and Mushashi

Guts is NOT stoic

Hey, I just randomly got this video recommended to me by KZbin and I just want to tell you that I really like your video. I can't really explain why but just the way you made it and how you talk about these characters with passion seems really wholesome. Keep up the great work mate!

thanks, really appreciate it

If I may give one suggestion, a longer video would do better algorithmically, and it woulda been sick to dive a little more into the titles question

thanks for the feedback, will keep this in mind for the next one!

a character doesn’t have to just be one thing throughout the entire story. what you could do is start off with your character seem stoic and dangerous, and then slowly over the course of the story show the cracks in the mask until finally it either comes off altogether or the reader has enough of an idea of that character’s inner world that they now feel like a completely different person. this is actually a somewhat common thing irl; you meet someone, think they’re super cool and way better than you, and then learn that they’re just as much a goober as everyone else.

I have a complicated one who may be mistaken as stoic but is a genuine sociopath. As in they almost don't feel fear and they are incapable of remorse. However, they intellectually sort of realize that what they did in their past life was "wrong". Also, for better and worse, they are a college professor. When a villain shows up, the former monster on campus takes them by surprise.

that sounds really intriguing!

Thomas Shelby did represent a good stoic character as well.
