Rumors are, they can quickly change the production to crossbows, when there is a zombie apocalypse.

Those are truck springs. For a zombie apocalypse, the production changes to Kukri blades 🤣

I work for a North American manufacturer of leaf springs. My employer's processes use more capital and less labor, but I can recognize what is going on (mostly). The first step shown is the shearing of the bar stock into the lengths for each leaf. At 0:53, the worker is marking where on the leaf the center hole will be drilled. Sadly, we are not shown how the eyes and wraps are formed. At 1:32, it looks like the center hole is partly drilled to make it easier to hot punch the hole. The furnace is loaded at 1:59. The screw press at the end pushes the pile of steel into the furnace. It is run backwards to make a gap to load more steel. A piece of steel heated to the correct temperature is pulled from the furnace, at 2:29. At 2:51, it has the center hole hot punched into it. At 3:10 the hot leaf is squeezed between two dies to make it straight. It is hard to tell what is happening at 3:20. It might be punching a hole at the end, or it may just be the identification stamp. I apologize for not being able to explain what is happening. For me, the most interesting step is shown at 3:44, where rollers press the unformed leaf against a template, as, at my employer, we form the leaf between forming dies in a mechanical press, so I have never seen leaves formed the way that these workers do it. While still hot, the newly formed leaves are placed on a conveyor that lowers the leaves into an oil bath, at 4:07. The sudden quench (but not as sudden as if it was water) causes a phase change that produces a mix of martensite and pearlite domains in the steel. As the leaves come out of the quench both very hard and potentially brittle, the quenched leaves are loaded into another furnace that will soften the steel, at 4:58. Once the steel leaves the second furnace, at 5:40, it is fully heat treated and is stacked for later assembly. At 5:56, we see the center holes being drilled into the leaves that we saw the workers marking at 0:53. These leaves are then loaded into the furnace at 6:25. It seems to me that these leaves are not the same thickness as the other leaves, so they cannot just be added at the end of the pack and pushed through the furnace, with the other pieces. I hope that you found this to be informative.

I didn’t like the video, didn’t show how they turned the ends or put them together.
